administration, according to phil murphy they were in lockstep in the early months of the pandemic. we want to hear conversations that took place in the administration how to handle the nursing home environment for covid 19 patients. the regulation came out from one of the conversations that took place between administration and nursing home operators. you realize people will die and was was deafening was the silence. benjamin: the staff here, the number of long-term facilities, was 8000, in new jersey, per capita in the us, the highest nursing home deaths, the attorney general refused to take action. can you explain that? >> it is an election year, new jersey leads the nation in nursing home deaths and the nursing homes that are owned and operated by the state where veterans resided and continued to reside are the ones with the greatest number of deaths. we want to continue to probe, we would like the democratic majority with investigation of hearings. they have done that in the past in situations where people didn't die. this time a great many people died and they can't have investigational hearings. jillian: i want to get to something a minute and a half ago, and administrative the warned governor murphy, resulting seniors, let's pull this up on the screen that reads, quote, you understand by asking us to take covid patients by demanding we take covid patients patients will die in nursing homes that wouldn't have otherwise died had we screened them out. that is disturbing and disturbing for a lot of families that are left without loved ones or answers. >> the governor granted the nursing homes to legal immunity. they forced this decision upon them, put them in a no-win position. forced the impossible upon them and then goes on national tv and says they will have to pay the price when the greatest deaths were in his own nursing homes, owned and operated by the state, the whole thing needs to be investigated. >> governor murphy, did not get a response bill this week that would make what they call significant reforms to section 230 to protect americans using social media platforms, it is able to shield social media companies from being held liable for content on their platforms while allowing them to moderate that content. the bill, platform accountability and transparency act, companies like facebook and twitter accountable to users increasing transparency around content moderation practices. if facebook chooses to remove a post, it would require the company to explain the decision to the user. the bill would require the companies to have a process to give the user an opportunity to appeal the decision and protect news articles from being removed from social media platforms. the bill would require social media companies to produce transparency reports every 6 month, those according to the senators would provide data to determine whether any biased moderation exists. they first introduced the bill last congress. it is unclear at >> if you are not thinking about that you are not paying attention to what is going on around you. jillian: you fast-forward and have fellow winemakers being able to open up for outdoor tastings and you can't because you suffered this incredible loss in addition to suffering closures for coronavirus going on for a year now so what do you do? you have to pivot yet again. >> that is how we will get through to the other side, to be number enough to pivot. >> reporter: one of the unique things about this winery that survived the fire, the cave filled with wine barrels as you can see and if you are lucky you will get a taste of one of those things. come in and take a look at this tasting room. this speaks for itself and it will be a while before you get the full experience because of covid restrictions and rebuilding from the fire. there is a plan in place for the future. >> the temporary environment, the tasting environment will be a garden area right in the heart of the vineyard. i don't think there is a moment we said we are not going to do this, not going to rebuild, not going to come back but we were pretty aware of the challenges, winemakers and farmers were willing people. >> what is the long-term effect on the region as a whole on your industry as a whole when it comes to everything you had to endure in the past year? >> interesting question. none of us know the long-term impact. it would not be surprising to see them spring back rapidly. >> that is the american spirit, the rebuild story, the want to come back. he inherited that property from his father so it goes back and means a lot to him and his family. his clients kept him a throat for much of this past year, he said i don't know what i would do without them. it is an incredible story. i don't know if you know i visited that winery, i didn't know anyone there, the week before everything shutdown in march of last year and ended up being one of my most favorite experiences and i can't wait for the day everyone else can get back when they are fully rebuilt because it is quite a gem. benjamin: they have committed to virtual tasting which sounds to me like an excuse to drink at home. i like the sound of it and build back better, i am sure they will. thanks very much. still ahead the uk is looking to tackle cancel culture at universities with free-speech champions. will it work? >> i think it is the combination of years and years of seeing that creeping authoritarianism from the part of the left on campuses stopping as views from being expressed stopping discussions. universities if you think about it is a place where you're supposed to challenge ideas debate, discuss, reach conclusion on reason arguments. but it turns out that a lot of people on campuses think the best way to win an argument is to not have it in the first place. >> what is so terrifying to the left about conservative values conservative opinions? why are they pushing back against something like this? >> i can conclude it come les as a sort of end point a long-term project which is an understanding from elect. if you can gain control of what is taught and what is spoken about, two young people you have a better chance of shaping their outlook going forward. and i suspect as we know a lost of argument one to expose them to discussions fall away. they don't want that to happen they would like you know for education to be drummed into the mind this is only thing that's thought process that works. and then to hope that will launch people into a lifelong support of ideals that's why they want to stop that debate from even happening. >> do you think something like this could work in the pus in the u.s. we have first amendment. do they need it there and something to work?
