these are issues that are used astro january horses to make race the primary factor now in who gets the vaccine. jedediah: yeah, and also that quote that talks about disproportionately those who have been affected. we all know that age was one of the main factors, right? when we talked about this disease and we talked about the horrors that it was inflicting on nursing homes, on people on certain age bracket. it it was one of the things where you could look to see if you were in the 40 to 50 age bracket you were likely to have this amount of illness and fatality rate was. this i think it's going to be challenging. i understand the perspective if they're looking to communities that have been, you know, localities where there have been high poverty rates where, you know, the healthcare facilities are not up to par, things of that nature, take race aside, if they are looking into those aspects and saying well these people are deproportionately affected live in these areas. i understand that, to solely make it an issue based on race is incredibly problem that the particular. they need to look at the population and who is most at risk, obviously. and proceed. and i don't really care what the color of someone's skip be is. i don't really care what their gender is i care about protecting the most vulnerable, whoever that may be. pete: yeah. leave it up to the left to mess up the easiest thing to do which if you are a front line healthcare worker you should get the vaccine. if you are in a long-term care facility you should get the vaccine. then they throw in all this other junk, superficial thing that will end up dividing us because of the lunancy of it. here we are talking about it when it is as straightforward go down the list of who needs it most, not hard to figure out and just administer it. someone who provided that kind of perspective i have ventricl >> get to the heart of the matter using race as a basis for distributing a public good in this country is the antithesis of what america is supposed to be about. i think it sets a dangerous precedent. think about the other way we hope all will go well and i fully suspect that it is. this is a powder keg waiting to explode if we say go to minority communities first and god forbid something even appears to go wrong. this could be one of the most dangerous mistakes of our century if we use the moment to racialize the distribution of a public good. pete: he's exactly right. to go back to the beginning of what lucas tomlinson said. quite interesting to see someone like josh hawley out of missouri team up with bernie sanders. you see that in the unique moments with the government has been so draconian the only option is to pay people. if you are going to shut them down, you have to pay them as a result of that we will seal where these negotiations go over the next two days whether or not they get a deal after, you know, we have had months and month and months. what's two more days? that's capitol hill for you. speaking of capitol hill, much has been made at the very least here at the fox news channel and at places willing to cover it about eric swalwell and his cohorting with fang fang nancy pelosi and many others have been made aware of it. he was made aware of it at the time. yet he still got a seat on the intel committee junior congressman with no experience on foreign affairs matters. the leadership of the house, kevin mccarthy, nancy pelosi and others were finally briefed yesterday by the fbi about this chinese spy. and her relationship with eric swalwell. here's leader mccarthy as he came out of the briefing from the fbi about what he learned. this is on "the story" yesterday. >> i can tell you this. what i learned today and anyone who was in that room with me would never allow swalwell to be on the intel committee or to continue to be on it. i don't know if the briefing before for leader, if they have the same information they have today. but if that was the case, he should not be serving. will: he should not be serving. he has accusations and it ties to adversarial regime. here we are he still sits on the house intel committee, jedediah. jedediah: yeah, why was he on there to begin with? the whole thing seems a little bit odd to me as to why, you know, you talked about, you mentioned, pete, that he didn't really have the qualifications or the experience to be there. so it seems like an odd position for him to be in to begin with to be on there, have this erupt, and really have so much silence on the part of democrat on it. i mean, it's stunning to see the silence. continuingly people in high positions of leadership, nancy pelosi and whatnot. this is a pretty astonishing development for someone who sits on that intel committee and dealing with matter of national security. i mean, it's pretty outstoppedding what people choose to ignore in the name of supporting their own political party. another thing that we have been talking about and eager to see how the biden administration will act with respect to the press. you know joe biden during the campaign he was kind of a loaf. he stepped back. you know, i don't need to take a lot of questions. and i don't need to do a lot of that stuff. people saying maybe it will be different if he actually wins maybe he will come out front and center and willing to answer these questions. that's not what happened recently in a presser. in fact, reporters, he only answered a few questions. he left a lot of news outlets out and reporters had no choice but to go into a zoom chat and to try to beg, really, the biden officials to answer some of their questions. take a look at some of these examples, sam stein from the daily beast hey, guys, a ton of folks ask questions since this is being done once a week go longer or hold more frequent briefings? then you had vicki miller from the associated press, any chance you can take a few more questions? there are a lot of folks here with yes, sir. andrew feinberg, white house reporter? is there a point be to say we want to ask questions if you only call on the same small group every week? they will have to do something about this. i mean, i understand the strategy during the campaign, he felt he didn't need to be out there front and center. but people have questions. one of those questions is going to involve hunter biden who is now under active investigation. and he's going to need to be transparent on these issues or you are gonna see what would be considered potential allies of a biden administration in terms of it the media come out and say enough is enough. they, too, want their questions answered, pete. pete: i hope you are right that eventually the press would turn on the idea that joe biden can live in a bubble. but, of course, they didn't during the campaign. and a few comments in a zoom chat doesn't really rise to the level of an actual uprising. maybe eventually it would. but you have got this call. there were five reporter that were called on. predetermined in advance, of course no questions about hunter biden. he did answer a question about hunter biden recently though to stephen colbert, late night host. the question was how does it make you feel? we do "fox & friends" all the time. sometimes you have like a family on or something and you ask them how does that make you feel because it's the right kind of segment for that you don't ask in a hard-hitting interview how does it make you feel that your adult son has compromised your entire administration? i love my son. what a great example we all love our son. there will be no serious examination. maybe they will open up to a few more questions but the press is on the side of joe biden and so we should expect nothing less. will: the biden transition team can be forgiven for assuming they don't have to answer questions. they didn't during the campaign. they are probably quite surprised that now people want to ask questions of them. i didn't think this was the nature of our relationship, they would be thinking. ari fleischer part of the bush administration whop dered aloud on twitter how in the world is the biden press allowed to get away with a once a week briefing. i thought they were quote returning to norms. i briefed daily during the bush transition so did the trump staff. the media need to raise hell, assuming they remember how to do that to d's. will: ds. all right. jedediah will. jedediah: need like an apostrophe. i was with you. i was like glad he has got that read. cover a lot more in the next few hours. right now turn to some headlines, a judge strikes down a lawsuit in georgia that would have isolated ballots of voters who just moved to the state. the g.o.p. taking the matter to court arguing new voter registrations reveal hundred of applications for people who voted in other states during the november election. nearly 1.1 million people have already cast a ballot in the state's twin senate runoff election. the outcome will determine which party hold the majority. and new york city's ban on the use of new york city bathrooms is quietly reversed less than 24 hours after it's it posted. new city guidance saying customers may not enter the inside of the establishment for any reason. but friday morning it was changed saying customers may enter the inside of the establishment to use the bathroom. president trump and first lady melania beaming for the camera in their final official christmas portrait. will donning it will coordinating tuxedos melania matching with stilettos, fantastic. posting in twitter writing in part merry christmas. i have said this before. and i will say it again, melania has the best wardrobe on earth and i thought that was a fantastic move. i love a lady in a tuxedo. those are my two cents. pete: there you go, nice picture. still ahead, minneapolis lawmakers are now backpedaling their calls to defund the city's police department despite just passing $8 million in budget cuts. hear why our next guest says this is just a strategic retreat after a brief break. ♪ baby ♪ why don't you just meet me in the middle ♪ i'm losing my mind just a little ♪ so why don't you just meet me in the middle ♪ in the middle ♪ baby ♪ looking to save money this holiday season? secondarily, why does he remain very few questions asked of nancy pelosi, as to eric swalwell's swirling controversy now, and seemingly lacking in impact on his career in congress jedediah: yeah, and being on that intel committee you're dealing with highly-highly- sensitive information and i can't speak to exactly what those individuals see on a day-to-day basis but clearly that's not someone who you want compromised in any way. you want someone there whose secure, whose not going to be affected or influenced by any outsiders, so this is a very complex issue and it seems to me that there are many other individuals as we've said that could easily serve on that committee and not be compromised so the he's etans to remove him or replace him seems odd to me as well. pete: as trey gowdy said there are over 200 people in the house of representatives, democrats who have not slept with achiness spy. pick any of them and they are better than eric swalwell, no experience eric swalwell, he's very close to nancy pelosi, being on the intelligence committee makes you privy to a lot of things he's a partisan bombthrower showing a willingness to leak, calling other people spies as he's done for four years, she doesn't want to get rid of him because he's useful to her, ultimately and nancy runs to the podium, she hasn't talked about this for over a week, realizes it's a problem but is counting on the fact that places like the new york times won't even talk about it which they haven't not one drop of ink on this story is the fact that our single-greatest enemy, potentially compromised a congressman with that kind of access, yet she answers nothing for it. someone who did come on and answer it about it was steve scalise. we talked to him about this earlier the minority whip. here is what he said. it was a guy running around if you remember during impeached, probably the most vocal voice jumping in front of anybody to get to a tv camera to call republicans russian spies and accusing the president of falsely being involved in russian spy, turned out he's the guy that's involved with sp ies, in this case a chinese spy, did speaker pelosi know, by the way, about the tie to fang fang, the chinese spy, before she put him on the committee and why hasn't she removed him now? there are serious questions that need to be raised especially when you look at the china problem that the democrat party has. pete: and leader mccarthy comes out and says based on what i saw which i can't talk about he should be gone and the other detail is the spy, fang fang, was able to leave the country, without being caught, who tipped her off. was it him? shouldn't we have answers to those too? will: steve scalise points out that swalwell is one of the people leading the charge in alleging that president trump and his administration had ties to russian spies. i think 2020 has taught us those that cast the largest stones keep those same sins to themselves when it comes to coronavirus restrictions, to accusing everyone to being spies while you have a tie to a chinese spy. those who sing the loudest are the ones covering their own sins , jedediah. jedediah: yeah, i think that's an absolutely fair point, and we've seen emerge in many capacities throughout this year, unfortunately, and we've talked a lot about what's going on within the democratic party and which way it's going to go, frankly, at this point, will joe biden be influenced by the hard left and one thing that's going to happen that's interesting is that aoc, whose considered really a leader in the far left wing, she has a social media influence, a lot of people like her and listen to her. she lost out on a prestigious committee role with the house energy and commerce committee, and she lucked out by secret ballot actually and i think the fact that she had publicly taken on joe manchin that she was viewed as this part led individual who wasn't going to be able to compromise or come to the table and negotiate. representative henry queliar a democrat from texas weighed in said i'm taking into account who works against other members in primaries and who doesn't, interesting statements there and one of the reasons why aoc may not have been chosen for this is because of things she said in the past. this may be one example of that. >> i do think that we need new leadership in the democratic party. i think it's easy for someone to say oh, well why don't you run but the house is extraordinarily complex, and i'm not ready [laughter] it can't be me. i know that i couldn't do that job. whenever there's a challenge, it kind of collapses and that is the result of just many years of power being concentrated in leadership with a lack of real grooming of the next generation of leadership. >> are you ready to say pelosi and schumer need to go? >> i mean, i think so. we need to shift power. we need to make sure that we have a transition of power in the leadership of the democratic party. pete: at least she knows she shouldn't be speaker of the house, i guess that's one small point for minor self-awareness. now this is a spot on the energy committee, which she's the queen of the green new deal. that's why she wanted to be there. that's part of that rejection. you mentioned that secret vote, jed. it was 46-13 against her, and i think as a reflection of some of the frustration democrats have. i will say this though, that nancy pelosi and steny hoyer and the other leaders in the house they're the old power and even though they are leftist liberals they're old school democrats and they had so much money in campaign donations to members that they got those votes but that doesn't change the fact that comrad cortez reflects the energy of a base which has an expectation that all the rioting in the streets is matched and the green new deal actually happens even if it destroys our economy, so this is a problem the left will have and her voice will continue to be loud because the media will continue to amplify it. we had rob smith on the program talking about democrats, are they rejecting the far left or not and here is what he said. >> what's going on here is very indicative of a trend that we've seen for quite a while now, with the democratic party and this goes even back to when joe biden got the nomination of the democratic nomination for president and this is moderate democrats and centrist democrats freezing out these far left radicals of the party who seem to be a lot more popular on twitter and on the cover of vanity fair than they are in the halls of congress. will: i don't know if this is nancy pelosi and steny hoyer rejecting the far left of the democratic party as much as they are rejecting aoc. you see , i think we have two things here, aoc is making a mistake in terms of manipulation and she's essentially committing bad politics by saying outloud what everybody else knows to be true. she is depriving herself of their support by taking away support from them. in other words how is nancy pelosi going to have aoc's back if aoc doesn't have nancy pelosi 's back but on the other side of this equation, aoc is right it is time for a change in leadership with the democratic party, pelosi and hoyer and the old guard have been there forever so i don't know if that adds up to aoc being the leader of the democratic party but i don't shes wrong. pete: scary with that leadership change would look like. jedediah: yeah, it's also interesting where do the voters lie, right? so, the difference is that because of covid, you can't just corner somebody or catch somebody at an event or out and about, because everybody is hunkered down, and the very few chances that you get to ask the question of the white house team, that it is very easy for them just to close out the zoom box. will: to dodge it or go into steven colbert and address these issues in a very friendly environment but even when you can shout a question it's met with somewhat limited success. let's take a quick look back, peter this was your attempt to get a question about hunter biden to joe biden. >> did hunter biden commit a crime? have you spoken to your son, mr. president-elect? >> i'm proud of my son. >> are you confident your son hunter did nothing wrong? >> i'm confident. will: you know, peter i don't think the story is going to go away but i don't know how joe biden is ever going to have to answer for the story, despite your best efforts. >> well, even if it is just one question and one very short answer at a time we can piece things together that way, and to the president-elect's credit, he could just keep walking when he's leaving, but he seems to at least want to give us a little something. will: that is a little something , so a little credit i guess, peter. i would like a more full answer to your very appropriate question, you being the only person asking that question with any sense of seriousness, in the media, i wish you luck, peter as you try to get answers from joe biden. thank you, man. >> thanks, will. thanks. will: take care. coming up christmas is just days away but what do you get for that person who has everything already?
