hello and welcome. the epic v apple lawsuit begins today, finally giving the fortnite publisher epic games its day in court. apple and epic games have been in a legal battle since last year over a 30% levy apple collects on purchases made through its app store. fortnite was kicked off the app store for dodging that charge by installing its own payment system, which is forbidden under app store rules. from san francisco, james clayton has more. in august last year epic games did something totally against apple s app store rules. it decided that its hit game fortnite should have a new payment option, to try to get around apple s 30% charge. apple probably kicked one of the app store but epic games is ready for the promptly. it stabbed apple with a lawsuit and was even prepared the high production video, a spoof of apple s iconic 1984 advert for the apple mac. apple has reportedly made hundreds of millions of dollars from the fortnite game alone, just in charges, and migrator
