Florida Congressman Introduces Federal Bill Against Fentanyl

Sarasota Congressman Vern Buchanan introduced legislation that would permanently classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs.
Tampa Bay-area law enforcement and substance abuse advocacy groups are backing a bi-partisan bill before Congress that would permanently classify fentanyl as a Schedule I drug.
Republican Sarasota Congressman Vern Buchanan and Chris Pappas, (D-NH), are sponsoring the Federal Initiative to Guarantee Health by Targeting (FIGHT) Fentanyl Act. The bill will allow law enforcement to permanently prosecute people who manufacture, distribute, or handle fentanyl-related substances.
