‘We’re living in a hating world’: Family, friends mourn slain Birmingham father

More than 100 people gathered in an east Birmingham park to remember a 30-year-old father of four who was gunned down over the weekend outside of his apartment.
Ladarius Bloxom, they said, was smart, hardworking, business-minded and, most of all, family oriented. He started his own lawn care business in 2020 and by year’s end had grown that business to 250 customers.
He had big plans, but those plans were cut short Sunday afternoon when Bloxom stepped outside of his apartment to talk with someone about fixing a car and instead was ultimately met with gunfire.
