9 & 10 News February 8, 2021 Michigan Department of Natural Resources is celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day this year with a virtual 5K – featuring a Bob Ross inspired theme. Run for the Trees Happy Little 5K registration is now open for those who are looking to get in some fitness while helping preserve and plant native trees in our beautiful state. The rules are easy: Pick the pace and the place, as long as it’s outdoors. You’ll have from April 22 thru April 30, 2021, to complete the 5K. For only $34 per person, your virtual 5K counts! All proceeds support Happy Little Tree-planting and preservation efforts in state parks. Everyone who participates will be shipped a keepsake Happy Little T-shirt, commemorative bib, and finisher’s medal featuring a real Bob Ross painting.
