BUCYRUS - Thanks to 300 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, it's going to be a good week at Crawford County Public Health, its leader said. "We're finally playing offense instead of defense," Health Commissioner Kate Siefert said Tuesday morning, standing amid the bustle of a vaccination clinic for residents ages 80 and older. "Because wearing the mask, social distancing, all that was defense. Now we can finally fight the virus with some offense, with the vaccine." The effort to vaccinate the county's oldest residents against the novel coronavirus got started at 9 a.m. Tuesday with a steady stream of seniors filing into the health department's building on Isaac Beal Road.
