COLOMBO (News 1st);  The Director General of Health Services confirmed nine deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Saturday (01). The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 687.

The deceased is a 65 year old male resident in Karandana. He died on 29.04.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 Chest infection and Chronic Liver Disease.
02.
The deceased is a 72 year old male resident in Awissawella. He was transferred from Kopai Covid Treatment Centre to Teaching Hospital Jaffna where he died on 30.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned asacute coronary syndrome with heart failure complicated with COVID 19.
