Katrina Liu/Correspondent Wicked Local Belmont Public Schools implemented the hybrid learning format in December 2020. For some students, it’s been a relief. For others, it has been an obstacle. Andrea Prestwich, School Committee chair and mother of two Belmont students, said her daughter has decided to stay remote after finding the hybrid model difficult to adjust to. “I think the reason is [because] you’re going in, but school is not normal,” Prestwich said. “You have to sit 6 feet away from people. You’re 6 feet away from your teacher. You can’t have lunch with your friends. It’s so restricted that it’s just not the same.”
