LMFM By Marc O'Driscoll Councillors will tomorrow vote on making a parking ban at beaches in Co. Meath permanent. The controversial measure at Bettystown Beach was brought in during the first Covid-19 lockdown to deter people travelling to the area and has since been extended several times. A proposal will go before Meath County Council tomorrow with a view to making the ban permanent. Councillor Tolan's motion can be read in full below: "In light of the overwhelming success of car free beaches in Meath, from both a public and an environmental perspective, to call on Meath County Council to make this ban of vehicles from the beaches permanent, with the exception of the disability and age friendly parking provision already made."
