(Photo by Matt Riley/Virginia Athletics) It felt fresh and new, but shockingly familiar for No. 6 Virginia in its 20-11 win against Towson on Saturday. The trio of Payton Cormier (6G, 1A), Connor Shellenberger (4, 3) and Charlie Bertrand (4, 2) combined for 20 points, and the Cavaliers showed the traits of their 2019 title run in an explosive debut to their 2021 campaign. “I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life with this,” said Shellenberger, who played in high school at nearby St. Anne’s Belfield. “Especially after that redshirt year last year, it was really good to be here at Klockner and get that first win.”
