But fearing a duplication of services between the parties and the high cost of the contracts, the commissioners voted to approve only the construction manager’s contract, and will hold a special meeting on Thursday to discuss the other two. Leyendecker Construction was awarded a $2,855,640 contract for the fairgrounds, which includes pre-construction services, construction overhead, profit and general conditions charges. The amount is based on the fairground’s $45 million construction cost and 16-month construction period. If there are any change orders, Leyendecker will charge 5.33% on the cost.
