we're in our very own home. >> and that mirrored what was happening in america at the time. >> advertisers wanted to cater towards that new suburban family that needed to buy that kitchen appliance or that vacuum. >> and after "i love lucie" there was a formula for what the american family should look like. >> ozzie and harriet. >> i loved everybody in it, actually. >> i'm starved. >> it was a happy, gentle, american family of the 1950s. >> how much do you need?
