virginia but elsewhere, especially considering different things happening especially up and down the ballot. in the one hand and we pay attention to what is happening with the former president, certainly riding high following the decision yesterday from the us supreme court saying that his name shall remain on the ballot. of course the state of colorado try to use a civil war ever provision to try to remove his name from the ballot citing his participation in an insurrection or alleged participation in a insurrection with the supreme court saying states cannot describe that an sway an humanitarian assistance in gaza. —— kamala harris talking about the need. people in the united states having critical of the biden administration for their stance in support of israel and they are warm with hamas right now so it will be interesting to see ultimately what happens there because those communities, many of them, have been urging their voters to say uncommitted on the ballot. we saw that in minnesota and four others have uncommitted as an option on the ballot there with over 100,000 people putting uncommitted and that the voting for president biden so we'll see if that same level of protest continues. we should also point out that former un ambassador nikki haley is still in this race as well. how successful she will be following today remains to be seen because she has had very little support leading up to this contest, she was able to set your —— secure washington, dc a few days ago but that leaves her with only 43 delegates to this point of her work cut out and if not what she needs to get in this race in order to say she has one, she does not really have to win. because, unfortunately, for her in vermont a couple of weeks ago were showing 60% for donald trump and 30% for her which is a tremendous improvement over well she was just tremendous improvement over well she wasjust one year ago tremendous improvement over well she was just one year ago with poles, similar polls, showing her a 2% compared to donald trump in spring of last year but then by january she had risen into the teens, 18% and just a few weeks ago up to 31% so with a swing through the state, a big rally, she really did have a decent amount of people turn out in her rally and in favour of her, you can certainly see number climb up into the 40s and maybe getting neck and neck with donald trump and what that means her campaign going forward is i think she thinks if she cannot shake few small wins like she did win washington, dcjust the other day, if you can win a state like maine and a state like vermont, which is doable though probably a long shot for main, she is properly a bit further behind him in main but you can make a case to stay in the race after that. if she gets wiped out and loses everywhere it's probably over and who knows where she goes from your.— she goes from your. thank you very much. ukraine says it has attacked and destroyed a russian patrol in the uk say the industry "must do better" for women and girls. the women and equalities committee highlight areas such as the design of football boots to support their findings. our sports correspondent, katie gornall, reports. the profile of women's sport has never been higher. but despite the surge in media coverage and public interest, mps say women and girls, from the elite level down to the grassroots, are still being held back, with a new parliamentary report highlighting a lack of support for their health, and barriers they face at different stages of life. when it comes to puberty, the rate of drop off for girls is incredibly high, and some of that to do with pe kit, some of it's to do with the type of sports that are available to them. but primarily, we're really concerned about a lack of access to kit that is designed and structured for women, and the lack of research that ever goes into female sport. 0n research mps claim there's been a slow and disparate response to the disproportionately high number of acl injuries in women's football, something it says wouldn't happen in the men's game. the report also criticised the lack of boots designed specifically for women. and, in examining anxiety girls face around their periods, called for teaching around the menstrual cycle in schools to be drastically improved and start from an earlier age. among the wide ranging recommendations was for the government to convene a task force of experts to tackle these issues. former england goalkeeper rachael brown—finnis is one of the trailblazers of the women's game. having long experienced inequality in sport, its persistence is a source of frustration. excellent goalkeeping - from rachael brown—finnis. over two million women and girls who play football in this country make zero money out of it at all, and they are putting careers, their student lives, what they do alongside football, at risk, going onto the pitch, or going training because of a lack of education from the coaches who are coaching them, a lack of research into the equipment that they're using, the surfaces that they're playing on. do you think a report like this could help make a difference? awareness, education, and keep asking the questions, asking why things have been done, why things haven't been done, probing the questions, pushing for change, yes, we can make a difference. at a time when nothing should be holding female athletes back, change can't come soon enough. katie gornall, bbc news. with me is now is gb hockey player tess howard — who is also founder of inclusive sportswear — an organisation which advocates for more inclusivity in sports kit. tell me about your experience because i understand you were injured due to sports kit. i ruptured my acl and whether it was to do with my footwear is a big question but what i did over that time, the 12 ounce out of my game was to look into research about why it is such a barrier for girls, sports girls had dropped out of sports because of concerns and i knew i had to do something at the top of my game. white make talk about hockey and we know with football boots they are also contributing to injuries. what other sports have kit that puts people off or is more difficult to use? it is so funny because when you open the can of worms it all comes out. bowlers, they have muscle so their shirts are too tight. in hockey our skorts we are compression skorts so we did not have the movement, same with the tops. you also get deducted points of your leotard slips, you cannot move it. so many different aspects. we talk about what is going to enable participation performance in sports and what we are looking at is it is performance at the elite level which is being affected and thatis level they really believe the market is there and that it needs to change because we have so often just said yes to things but i do feel like because the conversation is changing and particularly when we look at it from a public health aspect, we are talking about keeping girls in sport from an activity health standard, i think they use a bit of change because remember what you're trying to do is keep girls in sport and i think that is where the stories, and everyone's individual stories, comes out then you can see change and it's great they caught systemic because i've always said that body image over the last seven years it has examined crimes such as murder and torture linked to the agent known as "stakeknife", and the role played by the british security services — including m15. 0peration kenova has now linked the agent to the murder of 17 alleged informers. some of them were also working for british intelligence. for the families of those killed by the ira, it's hoped this week's report will provide some answers. the bbc*s peter taylor, who has been investigating the troubles for more than 40 years, has more. john dignam was murdered by the ira in 1992 and branded as a special branch informer. i personally can't see him working for the ruc. i couldn't believe it, knowing john, and living with him. i interviewed claire dignam 30 years ago. he was my husband and he was the father of my children, and i loved him. no matter what people say he did or he didn't do, i loved him. every bone in my body. the ira interrogated dignam and two of his ira comrades, and tape recorded their alleged confessions. i finally managed to get hold of the tapes. the banging of a pan was the sign to start talking, to hide the interrogator*s voice. metal pan clangs. my name isjohnny dignam from portadown. i'm aged 32. i told the police handlers that i was on a weapons training camp in limerick. dignam admitted being recruited by special branch. he paid the penalty — a bullet in the back of the head. his body was dumped on a lonely country road. he always went in to kiss the kids goodnight. and he didn't. .. he never has come back to do it. that's hard. in your case, you've suffered for 30... 31 yea rs. and are you still suffering from it? yes, peter, iam. i don't have a photograph of my husband because it's the memory of that... itjust brings up a dark, what happened tojohnny. after you've seen the clip, we'll pause and i'lljust ask you your reactions to it. metal pan clangs on recording. 0h, is that the... no, i don't want to hear that. i don't know if i could cope. the sound was too painful. but claire quickly composed herself and came back to carry on and thank me for doing the interview. this is healing — it's healing for me. what are you hoping 0peration kenova will do? give answers to all the families, and myself. no matter what them answers may be, just to give us answers. if you'd like more on that story there is another or another safety warnings have had to be issued in some areas of the world, after planespotters were blown across the road by the force of aircraft engines. the raf now says people must stay well back when watching planes near lincolnshire's airbases. crispin rolfe reports. if anything went wrong with that aircraft, you cannot outrun that aircraft. you've got to be safe. the things people do for the perfect photograph on holiday. 0r outside lincolnshire's airbases. it's why the raf has issued a new warning, telling people to stay away from landing and take—off areas. and instead, stick to official viewing spots. since covid started and lockdowns, we have had more new people starting to come out to the bases. they have perhaps not bothered reading what they should and shouldn't do. so they come over here and they seem to be the ones standing in the wrong places. are they taking chances? they are, yes, i think so. you shouldn't do it. it's very exciting to be under the planes when they come over you. it's this so called frangible fence which the raf wants people to steer clear of. the fence is designed to withstand the forces generated by a landing jet aircraft. but although most people do keep their distance, many of the regular photographers here at raf waddington also say they have seen dangerous behaviour. it's a massive problem because it is illegal to do it. standing at the end of a runway is dangerous. if you stood there, people would be blown across the road because the power and those engines is absolutely colossal. it is not a problem confined to raf waddington, the home of the red arrows. at raf coningsby nearby it is a similar story. the dangers are very real. i have seen people blown off stepladders. if you are blown off your ladder into the road, you have bigger problems than the aircraft. if anything was to go wrong with the aircraft, and these are designated safe spaces for the aircraft, if that goes wrong, you don't want to be anywhere near that. so, with plane spotting season upon us at raf waddington and raf coningsby, a message from the raf is clear. it's simply not safe to get the absolutely perfect view ofan aircraft landing. crispin rolfe, bbc news. before we go, you might remember this scene from the bbc*s 1995 adaptation of pride and prejudice. millions of viewers swooned over colin firth as mr darcy , striding out of a lake wearing a wet shirt. well, now the shirt is going for sale , and could fetch as much as 10—thousand pounds. it's one of more than 60 costumes from film and tv being auctioned in london on tuesday, with all of the proceeds going to charity. let's speak to our culture reporter, noor nanji. remind us why this shirt is so famous. this is the shirt that was worn by colin firth in that scene we've just seen from pride and prejudice and in the scene it was a hot day and mr darcy, colin firth, decided to go and try to cool down in his private lake so he jumped and try to cool clinging white shirt and of course ran straight into his love interest elizabeth bennett. that scene was not actually in the original book byjane austen as some fans will be aware but that has not stopped it becoming one of tv*s biggest moments with viewers being transfixed, glued to their screens and all of a sudden colin firth was transformed into something of a sex symbol. seen as even "hidden library". you're being given the chance to sleep inside the landmark, the first time that's been done officially since world war two — when volunteers tried to protect it from bombing raids. it'll costjust £7 for two people, but it's only open for one night — on the 15th march. during their stay, the guests will enter the cathedral through the dean's door and climb the spiral staircase, designed by sir christopher wren more than 300 years ago. at the top of the staircase, they will be greeted by the library, which hosts a collection of more than 22,000 books, they will also be welcomed to the venue by the dean and receive a tour of the historic cathedral. the next morning after breakfast, the guests will climb to the famous cathedral dome to finish off their stay. a quick different story further east of the cloud they enough for a spot of drizzle, shall remain in place as well and there is a weather front draping its way across east coast and it will be there for most of the day with the potential for some sharp showers with the odd rumble of thunder potentially for the south—east later on. this little weather front edge of northern ireland will slowly ease further north and so an improving picture as we go through the afternoon with many central and western areas keeping the sunshine and keeping that frontal system sitting out of the east, a grey, damp, drizzly affairfrom any the east, a grey, damp, drizzly affair from any with many of those showers potentially heavy with the odd rumble of thunder. underneath the cloud and the mark, we are seeing around eight celsius but in the sunshine 11 possibly 12 celsius not out of the question. as we go through the night, that front feeds more cloud into the eastern area south of the west clearer skies, touch of fog forming and certainly the potential for some frost as temperatures dipped to just below freezing but that is what we will have the best of the early morning sunshine once any patchy fog lifts away and we will keep the sunshine here for much of the day with a bit of cloud and the weather front trying to desperately push into the south—west and south west wales and once again cloudy along the east but we should come across parts of lincolnshire, east anglia, south—east england, see that cloud thinning and breaking with a few scattered showers again and temperatures peaking between 7—12 pleasant as temperatures will be possible we around 12 celsius and well you have that exposure to the wind along the east coast, a little more cloud at the bit fresher. not a bad start to the weekend but the potential certainly on sunday for a shower is longer spells of rain. today at 1:00pm, the murder of emma caldwell. her family are meeting scotland's first minister to press for a public
