They are trying their best to provide Essential Services to gazans trapped inside gaza, with very little food, water, medicine and fuel. So this is an important update to bring you. 17 more trucks apparently are carrying aid into gaza through that all important Rafah Crossing which you can see here. This is controlled by egypt and is often used to bring goods in and is often used to bring goods in and out of gaza. I will keep these live pictures and bringing our guest sarah davies, a Public Relations officer at the International Committee of the red cross. Thanks so much forjoining us on bbc news. As we watch these live pictures of the Rafah Crossing, i want to ask you to give the viewers an insight into how bad things are within gaza. Thank you so much for having me. As everyone has really seen over the last more than two weeks now, the humanitarian situation for people in that gaza is dire and only increasing. Their needs are increasing. Their needs are increasing. People have had. They have had to leave their homes. Horrible scenes coming out of smoke and dust. People rummaging in the rubble with their bare hands. We know that the medical system, the Health Care System is really on its knees right now. Health care providers, medical personnel have been working almost nonstop for over two weeks. This is not sustainable. We also know that so many people as i said have had to relocate, but there is no place for them to really go. People are sleeping in the streets. My colleagues in gaza have told me that people are sleeping in a stairwell of hospitals. Children, elderly people, they are walking tens of kilometres southwards. The Essential Services, things like Waste Water Services are very damaged, they are not running as efficiently as possible. And i think its important to remember that even before this current round of armed hostilities, Essential Services in gaza that were under pressure and they were struggling before this conflict broke out. Tell they were struggling before this conflict broke out. They were struggling before this conflict broke out. Tell me about the hospitals conflict broke out. Tell me about the hospitals because conflict broke out. Tell me about the hospitals because we conflict broke out. Tell me about the hospitals because we talk. Conflict broke out. Tell me about the hospitals because we talk a i conflict broke out. Tell me about l the hospitals because we talk a lot about people moving to the south of gaza, moving to safety on the advice of the Israeli Government, but there are people in the north of gaza stuck in hospitals, what is happening to them and how do they get moved . For happening to them and how do they aet moved . ,. , happening to them and how do they get moved . Get moved . For some people, they cannot be moved. Get moved . For some people, they cannot be moved. Some get moved . For some people, they cannot be moved. Some people cannot be moved. Some people physically cannot make the walk if they dont have transport. We know that ambulances are under a lot of pressure right now trying to respond to the needs. There are people who rely on hospitals. And there are also people who will not leave their homes. Under International Humanitarian law, these people are still protected. They are still civilians and should be treated as such. ~. , civilians and should be treated as such. ~. ,. , civilians and should be treated as such. ~. ,. , such. What is the most important need riaht such. What is the most important need right now such. What is the most important need right now for such. What is the most important need right now for people such. What is the most important need right now for people in such. What is the most important l need right now for people in gaza . Because we talk about water, fuel, food, medicalsupplies. Because we talk about water, fuel, food, medical supplies. What is it that if you had the ability to bring it in right now, what would it be . I believe at the moment of course, the needs are immense, but we have not just aid ready, supplies ready, but personnel, medical teams and surgical teams who are ready to deploy and begin to alleviate some of this immediate wounds, people have burns, they have smoke inhalation. They have been living on the streets. The medical needs are so high right now. 0bviously, of course as well as water and food. What do you think the responsibility is of the Israeli Government right now . ~ u, is of the Israeli Government right now . ~. ,. , is of the Israeli Government right now . ,. , is of the Israeli Government right now . ,. , now . We call on all parties to the conflict to ensure now . We call on all parties to the conflict to ensure that now . We call on all parties to the conflict to ensure that a now . We call on all parties to the | conflict to ensure that a sustained load of humanitarian aid can enter gaza. While we welcome any negotiation that allows a certain number of trucks in, this can only be the beginning. There is simply too many needs to be dealt with by this number of trucks that we are hearing. We need a steady supply going in of food and water, things like chlorine tablets, personnel and medical supplies to ensure that the civilians in gaza, the people who have no part of this fight can receive the assistance that they really desperately need right now. What will happen if this doesnt, if this kind of aid, this level of aid, these things you are asking for dont happen . Dont happen . That is a really horrific situation dont happen . That is a really horrific situation to dont happen . That is a really i horrific situation to contemplate. Dont happen . That is a really horrific situation to contemplate. I cannot speculate of course, we do know that the needs are there. And if these needs are not addressed, there will be dire consequences for there will be dire consequences for the civilian population who are living there. The civilian population who are living there living there. You talked about infrastructure living there. You talked about infrastructure and living there. You talked about infrastructure and just living there. You talked aboutj infrastructure and just looking sometimes at the pictures we have seenin sometimes at the pictures we have seen in the past of infrastructure within gaza and the decimation of many, many areas, how does one even imagine building that back in the future . ,. ,. Future . This is a huge concern. So not only have future . This is a huge concern. So not only have people future . This is a huge concern. So not only have people had future . This is a huge concern. So not only have people had to future . This is a huge concern. So i not only have people had to relocate and they now dont know whether their homes or residential buildings are standing, it is the infrastructure as you say. We know that multiple waste water plants have closed down, there has been damage to things like Water Treatment plants. This creates immediate concerns and issues like Health Hazards and environmental hazards, as well as the fact that people are still living in the area. It is really going to be, if things stopped today, it would already be a very, very Long Term Plan of rebuilding. Very, very longterm plan of rebuilding very, very longterm plan of rebuilding. Very, very longterm plan of rebuildinu. , m. , , rebuilding. How difficult does this make the job rebuilding. How difficult does this make the job of rebuilding. How difficult does this make the job of agencies rebuilding. How difficult does this make the job of agencies like rebuilding. How difficult does this i make the job of agencies like yours, like the International Committee of the red cross and so many other charities, agencies working and ngos trying to help the gazans . It is charities, agencies working and ngos trying to help the gazans . Trying to help the gazans . It is of course a challenging trying to help the gazans . It is of course a challenging situation. I trying to help the gazans . It is of| course a challenging situation. As the International Committee of the red cross, as a neutral, impartial and independent organisation, we are used to working in highly volatile situations around the world. Having spoken to my team, i can say with certainty this is incredibly challenging for them. Not only do they need safe access to move around, but the supply issue, there is a lack of supplies, i know that we have been doing things with local Service Providers to to fix minor repairs on water plants, we have done water chat water tanks, but it really is a very volatile situation, very challenging for not just the International Committee of the red cross, humanitarians, but the red cross, humanitarians, but the first responders. The health care personnel, the medical personnel who are risking their lives to help the community. Qm. Lives to help the community. 0k, thank ou lives to help the community. 0k, thank you very lives to help the community. 0k, thank you very much indeed for that. From the International Committee of the red cross, it is good to get a bit of insight into what the needs are of those in gaza. And just to bring you that Breaking News in the last few minutes that we believe that 17 further trucks have entered into gaza or are entering into gaza from egypt, the Rafah Crossing. These un trucks you are seeing at that crossing, they are carrying much needed supplies of medicine and food, canned goods, medicalsupplies and lots of things that are needed by People Living within gaza. Because of course, it has been effectively under siege for a number of days. Of course, as you know, we have a Gaza Correspondent Working and living within gaza. He now reports from inside one of those eight camps inside good southern gaza. Two camps. 0ur gaza correspondent, Rushdi Abualouf, reports. About 2,000 families living in these tents. They are people displaced from the north, in gaza. This is, a camp has been built by the unrwa. I was speaking to the families here. They said they are struggling to find water. They are struggling to find food. They are struggling to find a bathroom. They said the bathroom here is a real challenge. They said security, also, is a real challenge because as you know, hamas has been under really heavy attack by israel for the last two weeks or so, so there is no police around the area to maintain law and order, a few problems here, social problems in the area. But those people, they said, we have been given very little food very little water, very Little Medicine to the people who are in need for this. This is an example of how 700,000 people who are displaced from the north are living in a very difficult condition in gaza city. The unrwa is planning to have more and more camps like this, once the egyptians are allowing more tents, more food, more fuel and more medicine. Lets leave that story momentarily. We will bring you more on the hostage situation, those israeli hostages taken by hamas, as well as other issues and news lines coming in. But for now, lets bring you back to the uk. Here in the uk, about 500 homes in the nottinghamshire town of retford are being evacuated because of flooding caused by storm babet. The County Council has declared a Major Incident and urged everyone to leave. The river idle has reached Record Levels, and they are still rising, threatening the town. There are also severe flood alerts in three parts of the neighbouring county of derbyshire. Storm babet is disrupting Train Services in yorkshire and east anglia, and along the East Coast Main Line to edinburgh and aberdeen. The Environment Agency says flooding from the storm, which has caused widespread damage in scotland and the north east of england particularly badly, could last until tuesday. Lets cross live now to our correspondent andy gill, who is in retford. Bring us up to date with how bad the situation could become there. Well. Situation could become there. Well, ou can situation could become there. Well, you can see situation could become there. Well, you can see the situation could become there. Well, you can see the Floodwater Situation could become there. Vii you can see the floodwater behind me and the police have closed this road to stop people coming through. As you say, 500 homes potentially affected by this severe Flood Warning. A severe Flood Warning is the most serious you can get. It means there is a threat to life. It means there is a threat to life. It means there is a threat to life. It means there is a risk to injury. The problem is flooding on the river idle in this part of nottinghamshire. The community potentially affected include macro in itself, and west retford. Even though there is no significant rainfall expected, Authorities Say water levels are still rising and they could reach Record Levels. The Nottinghamshire County Council and the local Resilience Forum have declared a Major Incident. In the county Council Leader who is also the local mp here has urged people to cooperate with the emergency authorities if people are asked to leave their homes. Elsewhere across england, there are nearly 200 serious Flood Warnings in place. Not quite as bad as severe, also 150 flood alerts in place. Again, a slightly lower level of threat. The areas affected by these serious Flood Warnings include South Yorkshire, the river dee in wales and scotland. And people in shropshire, worcestershire and herefordshire have also been told they could experience some flooding as well. You mentioned the travel come in the aftermath of storm babet continues to affect travel. The Train Operating Companies say travel could be severely disrupted up until the end of the day. Services in yorkshire, east anglia and wales are among the worst affected. 0n the Train Operating Companies and network rail are advising people to check before they travel and the train. And if you are travelling, to allow more time for yourjourney. It sounds like a very serious situation indeed and looking at those pictures, the floodwater is everywhere. How usual or unusual is this for that part of the world . I was in South Yorkshire yesterday, which is not too far from was in South Yorkshire yesterday, which is not too farfrom here. They had severe flooding in a village called Kakko Near Rotherham in 2007. Cat cliff. They thought that would be the end of it. They said they had not seen anything like this. I think the fact it is a sunny day now, but the fact the river levels are still predicted to rise shows this is an unusual and difficult situation, which is why the Emergency Services in the local authorities are saying to people that it may look sunny at the moment, but there is potentially still a real problem and they should co operate if asked to do so. Stand cooperate if asked to do so. And how our residents co operate if asked to do so. And how our residents coping with this, have you spoken to anyone, what are they doing . I have you spoken to anyone, what are they doing . They doing . I havent spoken to any ersonall they doing . I havent spoken to any personally myself. They doing . I havent spoken to any personally myself, a they doing . I havent spoken to any personally myself, a colleague they doing . I havent spoken to any personally myself, a colleague of. Personally myself, a colleague of mine has spoken to residents who have come out there. Back in South Yorkshire where we were yesterday, the people there really are badly affected by it. The levels reached six feet and really, people there are going to face severe problems. It is the human side of things really affected. Notjust it is the human side of things really affected. Not just the it is the human side of things really affected. Notjust the kind of losing your television, losing your 3 piece suite, although that obviously is a real problem. But people are talking about sentimental things which they are never going to get back. One woman for example had a piano which had been left to them ijy a piano which had been left to them by an aunt who had recently died, great sentimental value, by an aunt who had recently died, great sentimentalvalue, her by an aunt who had recently died, great sentimental value, her home has been completely flooded and she is not going to get that back. Shindig. Is not going to get that back. Andy, thank ou is not going to get that back. Andy, thank you very is not going to get that back. Andy, thank you very much is not going to get that back. Andy, thank you very much indeed is not going to get that back. Andy, thank you very much indeed for thank you very much indeed for bringing us up to date with that. It is a huge problem for many People Living in those areas and we will keep across that flooding on bbc news as much as we can. Time now for a look at the sport. Hello, thank you. Football fans have been continuing to gather at Manchester Uniteds stadium to remember club legend and world cup winner sir Bobby Charlton. A book of condolence has been opened at old trafford and a digital version has also been created. A world and european champion, sir bobby passed away peacefully at his home on saturday. Hed been diagnosed with dementia three years ago. His 106 caps and 49 goals for england were records at the time. And during his career at united, he won three league titles, the european cup and the fa cup. When the club decided that for all hed done for Manchester United, it was to name the south stand after him. And it was before the everton game at old trafford, and we had a lunch, and i had tojust be there and be with him as well, as one of our great players not only for united, but for Manchester City as well. And we were on our own and i saw a tear in his eye, and i said, are you 0k . And this was bobby being really humble. And hejust said, oh, i dont deserve this. I said, bob, you deserve everything that comes your way for what youve done for this club, for your country and the world in football generally. And if youve seen any of the footage when he goes onto the pitch with his lovely wife norma, the tears were still in his eyes, because thats the kind of man he was. Manchester uniteds players paid tribute to sir bobby, ahead of kick off at bramall lane, where they played Sheffield United on saturday night, with a minutes applause in his memory, as well as wearing black armbands as a sign of respect. Good design and ood the playing well. Good design and good players, the recruitment of players good players, the recruitment of players looks like it is very good and very players looks like it is very good and very solid. South africa rugby say they are reviewing the Available Evidence after an accusation that their player Bongi Mbonambi allegedly used a racial slur during their Semi Final Win against england at the rugby world cup. Mbonambi has been accused of using a racial slur towards england flanker tom curry, who reported the alleged comment to the referee. It appeared that mbonambi refused to shake curry s hand at the end of the match, as the acrimony between the two sides continued after the final whistle. The two remaining unbeaten teams at the cricket world cup are meeting today in dharamsala, with hosts india taking on new zealand. These two are first and second in the standings, with new zealand narrowly ahead on run rate. India won the toss and put their opponents into bat. They struck twice early, including removing devon conway for a duck, but the Blackcaps Have rallied. Daryl mitchell passing 100 to help them get to 244 for a5. Them get to 264 for 8. A couple more wickets to take and you can keep across that on the bbc sport website. And thats all the sport for now. The breaking story, lets take your life to the Rafah Crossing between egypt and gaza. These tracks are part of a un convoy of around 17 trucks which are now being allowed into gaza with much needed medical and Food Supplies for People Living in that region these trucks. They follow on from the 20 trucks moving into the area yesterday, day ago. As aid agencies explained, they contain much needed aid, food, medicines. We spoke to someone from the International Committee of the red cross and she told us about how gazans in particular are suffering because of the lack of basic necessities such as food, clean Drinking Water and medicine. So we believe that 17 trucks are heading into gaza now. These trucks of course well, we think, be subject to some sort of search and documentation from the egyptian side. Lets cross live now and speak to our middle east correspondent Yolande Knell Injerusalem who can bring us more information as we watch these pictures. Talk us through the process. I imagine there must be some sort of inventory put forward to the israelis before these trucks are allowed to enter into gaza to make sure they dont carry for example any weapons or contraband items. For example any weapons or contraband items. , , contraband items. Thats right. They havent made contraband items. Thats right. They havent made clear contraband items. Thats right. They havent made clear the contraband items. Thats right. They havent made clear the exact havent made clear the exact mechanism that is being used to check these lorries. We knew that there were many, many lorries waiting in northern cyanide to go into gaza. But then just 17 made their way into the egyptian side of their way into the egyptian side of the Rafa Crossing northern sinai. We heard about it on Egyptian State media. They will be undergoing stringent Security Checks before they are allowed to pass into gaza. And of course, we have been hearing from the un that compared to the enormous needs there are knell for the 2. 3 million People Living in the gaza strip, this Isjust A Drop in the ocean there are now. To put that into perspective, before this Siege Of Gaza began by the Israeli Military after those terrible hamas attacks that killed 1,400 israelis, they used to be about 200 lorries a day that passed through the israeli controlled Kerem Shalom Crossing into the gaza strip, taking in the food needed, also fuel. And what is crucial is these lorry loads going in at the moment, fuel is not being allowed to enter. And we know hospitals are running desperately low on fuel to run their generators, fuel is needed to pump away at the sewage now accumulating in gaza come up sewage now accumulating in gaza come up with real fear about waterborne diseases. It is needed to pump water out, to run what else is, it can be used to fuel was allowed in to get the Desalination Plant in the south of the gaza strip going again as well. In of the gaza strip going again as well. ,. , well. In the meantime, the Israeli Military has well. In the meantime, the Israeli Military has said well. In the meantime, the Israeli Military has said it well. In the meantime, the Israeli Military has said it is well. In the meantime, the Israeli Military has said it is intensifying | military has said it is intensifying air strikes from gaza and has reiterated its warning to palestinians still in the north that they should flee to the south. Thats right and we have seen evidence already of this intense bombardment of the gaza strip going on. The Israeli Military says it is carrying out these air strikes to prepare the ground for the next stage in the war. Expected to be a ground invasion. We have had the Israeli Military s Chief Of Staff telling Infantry Troops they will go in to the gaza strip. The Israeli Military said in a briefing a while ago that it hit a number of hamas and islamic islamichhad sites in gaza, it has killed an operative, the Deputy Leader of the hamas forces responsible for Firing Rockets into southern israel, according to the Israeli Military. And it says it killed a number of other palestinian fighters. A key point being raised by knesset officials, the Health Ministry there controlled by hamas, it said some 55 people were killed in these later strikes, but they were notjust in the north of the gaza strip, they were also in the south in khan yunis and rafah, these leaflets were dropped on parts of gaza City Residents there told Me Aboutjust Yesterday being raised by gazan. They said the people that didnt leave, those neighbourhoods in the north could be classed as accomplices to a Terrorist Organisation if they decided not to heed this israeli evacuation order. The Israeli Military making clear it is very interested in particular in people leaving from gaza city, so that does seem to be a potential focus of the next stage of its operations. But according to what we hear, there are hundreds of thousands of palestinians still in the northern part of the gaza strip, many of them civilians. Many of them civilians. Thank you very much many of them civilians. Thank you very much indeed, many of them civilians. Thank you very much indeed, you many of them civilians. Thank you very much indeed, you land many of them civilians. Thank you very much indeed, you land knell| very much indeed, you land knell from jerusalem. And before we go, the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been we believe addressing a group of potentially troops and he has made a couple of statements. He says that if hezbollah goes to war with israel, that would bring unimaginable devastation upon it and lebanon. He says the gaza war is do or die for israel. Talking to the troops. He cannot say whether hezbollah will decide to enter a full war, a statement from the israeli Prime Ministers office. More on that in a few minutes. Hello. Well, the sun is back out again. But, of course, weve had a huge amount of rainfall in the last few days. Lets take a look at these figures. And in eastern scotland, it looks as though in excess of 200 millimetres of rain injust that one storm. Wakefield there, 144 millimetres. The South Of England also had a lot of rainfall. And just because the sun is out, it doesnt necessarily mean that the threat is completely over. You may want to check the Environment Agency website sepa as well in scotland to see what those river levels are doing. Because sometimes, there is quite a delay from the moment when it starts raining to when the peak of the flood waters arrive. But in terms of the weather, at least, its quiet across most of the uk today. 12 degrees in newcastle, around 15 in london, about the average for the time of the year. And weve got quite a chilly evening on the way, with clear skies and light winds. There might be even A Touch Of Frost at least early in the night across parts of northern britain. You can see barely above freezing there at 5am in aberdeen. But much milder in the south west of the country, around 13 in plymouth. Thats because we have a south westerly wind. A Weather Front is approaching. Therell be some rain around tomorrow i think in the very far south west of the uk. But i think the bulk of the country on monday, again, another decent day, with bright or sunny skies. However, rain is threatening to reach the south later on monday and into tuesday. This next Weather Front sweeps in from the south. So i think more wet weather to come at least across some parts of the country. So, yes, were in a sort of spell of drier weather now, but more rain is forecast. Its not going to be anywhere near as widespread and persistent at least, not until tuesday or wednesday. Later on wednesday, it does look as though the weather is going to go downhill once again, as another very large area of low pressure sweeps in off the atlantic. And i think its initially western parts of the uk that get the rain early on wednesday. Here it is, the next Weather Front. Heavy rain for south western england, for wales, Northern Ireland too. And then later on wednesday, that Weather Front will progress towards the north and the east of the country, and with that, some very strong winds. So the outlook overall is looking unsettled. No two days are going to be the same. Temperatures will be around average. And if you look at these weather icons, i think at least rain showers most days for most of us. This is bbc news, the headlines. There are reports a second convoy of 17 trucks has entered gaza with humanitarian supplies. The United Nations estimates about 100 trucks are needed every day. Israels military vows to intensify air strikes on gaza, before its expected Ground Offensive. It also says it struck a hamas cell sheltering in a west bank mosque. A Major Incident s declared and hundreds of homes are being evacuated because of flooding, as storm babet sweeps the uk. Polls open in argentina in the first round of president ial elections. The frontrunner is the far right candidate, javier milei. More now on our top story. The reports of aid trucks heading into gaza. Afp and other newsagencies, as well as Egyptian Media, say 17 trucks are moving into gaza through the Rafah Crossing. This would be the second aid convoy. The first 20 trucks carrying supplies entered on saturday, part of an agreement brokered by us President Joe Biden. The un and aid agencies, though, say the handful of trucks is not enough. They say the situation is so dire about 100 are needed every day. Israels bombardment of the gaza strip has intensified before a possible Ground Offensive. Its now more than two weeks since the attacks by hamas in which 1,400 israelis were killed. Palestinian Health Officials say more than 4,700 people in gaza have been killed in israeli air strikes, including at least 55 last night. This is another live scene we are getting from we believe, is this the Rafah Crossing . These are tankers moving towards the crossing. I am not sure and i cant verify what they contain, whether it is fuel or food. We havent had any indication that fuel was going to be allowed into gaza and we did speak to someone from the International Committee of the red cross very recently and she said that fuel is very much needed, but these are live pictures we are getting now. That is the un flag on the smaller truck and on the big one as well, so they are definitely part of some sort of a convoy. 17 tracks we believe are moving through that crossing today, following on from 20 yesterday. But these tracks contain our essentials, so we are talking about food, medical supplies, so we are talking about food, medicalsupplies, medical so we are talking about food, medical supplies, medical equipment with the people in gaza, particularly those who are stuck in a shelters, living in tents. We saw our correspondent Rushdi Abualouf in one of those camps and talking to us about the lack of basic amenities there. No toilets, a lack of food, obviously very little access to water as well. The situation has been described by un agencies is absolutely catastrophic for many people in gaza living in the area. There are 2. 2 million People Living in a very small area in gaza. We have the North And South of gaza, if you remember israel told us many people as possible to move to the south of gaza if possible but as they are bombarding the north. The south of gaza is where we have a huge monetary crisis because it is now home home to nearly a million extra people in that area. Lets keep watching this convoy of trucks. We dont know exactly what these trucks contain. We know they have un flag is flying on them. This the Rafah Crossing. To give you a bit of background the Rafah Crossing is one of three crossings in and out of gaza. This specific crossing is controlled by egypt. It is in and out of egyptian territory, not controlled by israel. It is this crossing where many aid agencies had hoped the exit and entrance into gaza would be able to commence, bringing much needed aid into gaza and potentially at some point allowing palestinians with foreign passports to leave the area. The letter hasnt happened yet but we are seeing a small number of trucks taking in some much needed aid into gaza. We arejust taking in some much needed aid into gaza. We are just changing the picture it now and you can read on the of that truck, or if you are not able to see it it says it is a petroleum company. These trucks are taking aid into gaza. Just to give you a few lines we are getting over the last few minutes, we note that these trucks follow on from 20 trucks that took aid into gaza yesterday. You can see the un jeep there as well with un personnel in there as well with un personnel in the car and talking to the person inside the car. The issue of course is there is a lot of aid needed within the territory and we know that un agency and other aid agencies have been very clear that what is happening now is not enough. They cite 100 trucks a day is what is needed to try and alleviate the suffering of people within gaza because of course if you have no access to food, fuel and water you are in effect suffering. Medical supplies, Food Supplies, very limited relief for the two Million People who live in gaza but it is relief nonetheless and it is better than what had been happening is that hamas attack 0ctober than what had been happening is that hamas attack october the 7th. Since then nothing really has gone into gaza. The last 24 hours has seen some level of aid moving in to the area. We now aid agencies are negotiating with israel to allow view to go into gaza. These Liquid Fuel Tanks to me. But i am not sure whether they are heading into gaza or what they are doing. We will try and ascertain that as we stay with these pictures. But fuel is essential not only to fuel peoples cars because you may think we want fuel for petrol for people to move around but if you think about it absolutely crucial for hospitals for example, because generators in hospitals are functioning through the use of fuel. We know also that gaza has a Water Desalination and Pumping System and that, again, it relies really heavily on fuel. Without those elements light becomes even more difficult in gaza. What the un secretary general Antonio Guterres told told at peace summit in cairo, the people of gaza need a commitment of much more, a Continuous Delivery of to gaza at the scale that is needed. He of course is returning to a much larger scale than what we have been seeing here which we believe consists of around 17 tracks. Now we can have a look at the report sent to us by my colleague injerusalem yolande knell. Taking aim, israeli tanks and troops are readying for a Ground Offensive in the gaza strip. Theyve been training for their fight. Commanders have said clearly that forces will enter the territory to crush hamas. For now, the military says it is intensifying air strikes, and there was evidence of that in gaza overnight, with dozens reportedly killed. Including in the south of the strip, after a Million People from the north were told to evacuate here for their own safety. Siren meanwhile, Air Raid Sirens sounding again in tel aviv this morning, a sign Palestinian Militants still have firepower. Just a trickle of aid has been allowed into gaza, now under siege by israel. Yesterday 20 lorries entered through egypts Rafah Crossing. With1 million displaced people and severe food and Water Shortages in gaza, there are fresh warnings about a catastrophe from humanitarian agencies. We are in regular contact with our teams on the ground and the scenes they describe are horrific. Unfortunately, we are continuing to see this toll of the armed hostilities rise, buildings are reduced to rubble, people are using their hands to try to find survivors under the rubble, hospitals are at breaking point. Away from gaza, in the occupied west bank, locals inspected the damage after a mosque was hit in a rare israeli air strike here overnight. Israel says it was targeting Palestinian Militants planning attacks. In southern lebanon, Israeli Forces say they hit back at hezbollah militants as they continued the most Serious Exchange of fire across the border in well over a decade. It all adds to the fear this could end up in a war being fought on multiple fronts at once. If you want any more information or stepping away from the television at the moment and get a bit more insight into what is happening in terms of israel and gaza, you can go to the bbc s live page on the website or the bbc news app for latest updates from our correspondence both on the ground and also here in the uk. As well as flooding to homes, there has been damage to roads, railways, bridges, and engineers and experts are out today assessing the damage because the red Weather Warning here only subsided at six oclock last night. It is a lovely day here in brechin and people are relieved about that. The next few days are due to the weather, the weather is due to be good but after that there is wet rain forecast. It really has notjust been a wet storm, but some parts of the country right through the month of seen a fair amount of rain. There is also a lag from between when it stops raining to when we see the floodwaters, so there is still very dynamic situation. Monday not much at all, but rain is already approaching ireland. Tuesday the rain starts to rides but it is from about wednesday onwards where the weather really goes downhill. We get deeply colours here and that indicates around 20 or 30 millimetres of rain, perhaps a bit heavier in the south of wales, but the difference with this rain is it will be coming in out of the west. Rememberthose it will be coming in out of the west. Remember those Rainfall Figures i showed you at the beginning of the order of 100 millimetres of rain, that is on this end of the scale. We are, judging by these colours and accumulations for these colours and accumulations for the whole week, somewhere around about here. It doesnt look like it is going to be anywhere near the amount we had in that short space of time. But lets have a look at the forecast briefly before i do go for the rest of today. It is a case of sunny spells but remember, keep checking the Environment Agency website, both in england and wales, and in scotland the sepa. Temperature is about average today in the sunshine, 12 in the north, 15 in the sunshine, 12 in the north, 15 in the sunshine, 12 in the north, 15 in the south. Tonight will be pretty chilly, A Touch Of Frost on the way, potentially for parts of scotland and also Northern England, first thing in the morning on monday it is about one in aberdeen but much milder there in the south of the uk, ahead of this next Weather Front which is expected to bring some rain. Quickly looking at monday, i think the clean up operation will be able to continue because again the weather is looking good across scotland, across most of Northern England, but rain from about tuesday and wednesday is forecast. Football fans have been arriving at Manchester Uniteds ground to sign a book of condolence thats been opened for sir Bobby Charlton who died yesterday at the age of 86. He was considered one of the greatest ever footballers, having captained united and helped england win the world cup in 1966. Ben croucher reports. Remembering one of The Very Best for Manchester United and england, sir Bobby Charlton shone brightest amongst the greatest who have ever played the game. I think probably englands greatest ever footballer, when you take everything into consideration, and what he won and what he achieved. He was a majestic player, a beautifully sweet striker of a football. A shot from charlton. Its worth trying. Goal a great goal scorer and a scorer of great goals, charlton transcended generations and even football itself. His fellow world cup winner geoff hurst described him as a great colleague and friend. Hell be missed by all of the country beyond sport alone. A true gentleman, said david beckham, a national hero. Its a sad day for football and everything bobby represented. How they cheered as Bobby Charlton led his men up to receive the handsome outsize trophy. He was a player who won all there was to win, but he wasnt defined by his success. When the club decided that, for all hed done for Manchester United, was to name the south stand after him, bobby was really humble and hejust said, alex, i dont deserve this. I said, bob, you deserve everything that comes your way for what youve done for this club, for your country, and the world in football generally. The affection for charlton is no more fond than at old trafford, where this morning a book of condolence opened to pay tribute to him, where his name will be forever engraved in the game, where his memory will not be forgotten. Ben croucher, bbc news. Lets just bring you some updates on that Breaking News that we have had for you this hour. These are the live shots from the Rafah Crossing between egypt and gaza. You can see there the tracks, it looked like they have been sacked there for a while to totally honest with you. We are hearing 17 tracks are being allowed into gaza. These trucks contain much needed essentials such as food and medical supplies. Yesterday we saw 20 trucks entering gaza. It might sound like a lot but un agencies and other aid agencies have reiterated that they believe 100 trucks a day are needed at the very least to service the population of gaza, who have not had access to these things for over two weeks. I am back at the top of the hour with more. I will leave you with this picture. Stay with us on the bbc. You may want to check the Environment Agency website, sepa as well in scotland to see what those river levels are doing. Because sometimes there is quite a delay from the moment when it starts raining to when the peak of the flood waters arrive. But in terms of the weather, at least, its quiet across most of the uk today. 12 degrees in newcastle, around 15 in london, about the average for the time of the year. And weve got quite a chilly evening on the way with clear skies and light winds. But i think the bulk of the country on monday, again, another decent day with bright or sunny skies. However, rain is threatening to reach the south later on monday and into tuesday. This next Weather Front sweeps in from the south. So i think more wet weather to come at least across some parts of the country. So, yes, were in a sort of spell of drier weather now, but more rain is forecast. Its not going to be anywhere near as widespread and persistent, at least not until tuesday or wednesday. Later on wednesday it does look as though the weather is going to go downhill once again, as another very large area of low pressure sweeps in off the atlantic. And i think its initially western parts of the uk that get the rain early on wednesday. Here it is, the next Weather Front. Heavy rain for south western england, for wales, Northern Ireland too. And then later on wednesday, that Weather Front will progress towards the north and the east of the country, and with that some very strong winds. So the outlook overall is looking unsettled. No two days are going to be the same. Temperatures will be around average. And if you look at these weather icons, i think at least rain showers most days for most of us. Live from london, this is bbc news. A second convoy of trucks is being checked at the Rafah Crossing between egypt and gaza. We report from inside one of the aid camps. They are struggling to find water. They are struggling to find food. They are struggling to find a bathroom. The bathroom here is a real challenge. Israel warns it will intensify the attacks on gaza, before its expected Ground Offensive. It also says it struck a hamas cell sheltering in a west bank mosque. A Major Incident s declared and hundreds of homes evacuated because of flooding caused by storm babet sweeping the uk. Hello. Welcome to bbc news. The second convoy of trucks carrying aid are at the Rafah Crossing between egypt and the gaza strip. It is unclear if they have crossed into palestinian territory some reports say that they have. The convoy appears to include fuel trucks. Under the agreement brokered by President Joe Biden to allow aid in, israel would not permit fuel to be included. Afp and other News Agencies including Egyptian Media say 17 trucks in total are heading into gaza. Israel has confirmed that 212 people are being held hostage in gaza. Rear admiral daniel hagar said israeli strikes overnight killed dozens of palestinian fighters, including the deputy chief of hamas rocket forces
