directive. measures are being eased in scotland and wales too. the transport secretary said today's announcement marks a 'new chapter�* in the pandemic and will make travel much easier. mr speaker, we promised we would not keep these measures in place a day longer than was necessary, and it is obvious to me now that border testing for vaccinated travellers has outlived its usefulness, and therefore, we are scrapping all travel tests for vaccinated people. not only making travel much easier, but also, of course, saving about £100 perfamily but also, of course, saving about £100 per country. three in five people believe the capital has to "become less wealthy less prosperous" in order to "reduce inequality between the different regions of the uk". the government earmarked £4.8 billion in the 2021 budget for borisjohnson's flagship project. some of that levelling up fund will be ploughed into infrastructure and the regeneration of town centres and high streets, there will be new local transport projects and money to maintain the uk's culture and heritage. but among 4,000 people who spoke to the think tank more in common, the majority seem to think london the majority seem to think london has had it too good. it's soaking up all the talent, a disproportionate level of investment, and it is time the money was shared out more evenly. let's go to the north of england. someone in a more wealthy area. so really, we need this investment now, but we need it to continue so we really rebalance inequality so that all of the uk is working as hard, as prosperously as it can do. we are going to talk about the attitude and conservative heartlands in the south, but as part of the problem that people don't see what that investment is going to bring back to the exchequer if a place like east lancashire, which is fabulous for tech and aerospace, if it can export its staff much more easily, that all flows back into the coffers, doesn't it?— coffers, doesn't it? that's
