feel the frustration. i think that this particular trip from delegates for developing countries, from small island states would travel choose distances, often totally outnumbered by delegates from developed, vets, western countries, and that was particularly pronounced at this cop, given covid, given vaccine in equity, so i think a lot of those delegates are on the heels of being exhausted already, and came into the space and had to work overtime. and it is existential for them. work overtime. and it is existential forthem. she work overtime. and it is existential for them. she talked acknowledgement of developed countries a failure to deliver on the promised i2 developed countries a failure to deliver on the promised 12 years ago. this attacks is saying we have acknowledged that failure, we are going to work to correct it. but it doesn't give us a specificity that we need to find that money is actually going to be delivered at the scale that is required, so that is the next step to have to be talking about. fit, is the next step to have to be talking about.— is the next step to have to be talkin: about. * ., ., , ., , talking about. a lot of the people who work in _ talking about. a lot of the people who work in the _ talking about. a lot of the people who work in the real _ talking about. a lot of the people who work in the real world - talking about. a lot of the people i who work in the real world economy come here and say, you guys fixate on these documents that alok sharma is talking about here, just fixate on the politics and the words, and for that they matter, and really what it says, it's a signal to the economies of these countries, and a lot of people who come here say, this has been an enormous catalyst for the green technologies, for changes, for the way that private finance is responding, to back a of these technologies. that is enough a lot happening on the sidelines that they perhaps don't reflect enough and that people don't see. i they perhaps don't reflect enough and that people don't see.- and that people don't see. i think that is an important _ and that people don't see. i think that is an important point, - and that many of those kinds of announcements. but a part of what this process is, it is not sending signals, it is also tracking, measuring, reporting and verification on whether they are delivered. what we have to see in the coming months and years are some of those commitments actually being built into the country's indices which we report on so we can be sure they said they are going to do, and what they meant to do. it is crucially _ what they meant to do. it is crucially important, - what they meant to do. it is crucially important, because on the one half united states are more sceptical than another half of united states. in donald trump was very sceptical, and one of the arguments you peel at most there is no point in us doing this and damaging our economy when china are not doing what they said to be dear. there has to be that transparency, monitoring the numbers, spreading trusted roundabout so that everybody is playing by the symbols.— is playing by the symbols. exactly riaht, another thing that occurs to me, everyone talks about the personality of each cop under sense of urgency which was much greater here in glasgow and perhaps even in madrid. next year, when we go to takes us back to that issue of loss and damage. earlier, we can't carry speak up and said the us is prepared to deliver more on loss and damage which is something we have never really had the usa all the work that has gone into making this conference happen. i also thank them for putting up with me. could we have a round of applause for the uk team? applause i also thank our observers, civil society and young people for keeping up society and young people for keeping up the pressure, for consonan demanding of such communities around the world expected us to deliver here in glasgow. thank you. andi and i of course thank those most climate vulnerable parties who never let us forget what is at stake. party says people are already suffering the worst effects of climate change, and his moral authority has power does process forward. together, over these two weeks, parties have demonstrated what the world had come to doubt — that countries can rise above their differences to unite against a common challenge. and that this multilateral process can deliver. now, i know that some parties, many of you, have sacrificed wadding that you held dearfor the sake of you, have sacrificed wadding that you held dear for the sake of the balance owed,, and i thank you for doing so. just as i think parties that have held their nerve under pressure so that we can deliver a strong final text. i think we can all be proud of what collectively we have delivered. the decisions we have delivered. the decisions we have adopted a part of a broader package which includes what we have achieved together outside these negotiating holes, on national determine contributions, finance pledges, not to mention our coalitions on call on forest and cars, and of course they work on the blog high—level champions. taken together, this package charts a course for the world to deliver on the promises made in paris. this glasgow climate park tries action on adaptation. it emphasises the need to act. it sets a clear way forward on the global call on adaptation, and it rg developed countries to at least double their collective finance for adaptation by 2025. it operationalise its the sensory argo network for loss and damage, finally giving that issue the focus of attention it deserves. it commits to attention it deserves. it commits to a scale up finance, which is a foundation for faster action and confidence that we can go farther, and it sets out actions that empower and it sets out actions that empower and engage all of society and driving forward this transition. collectively, we have acknowledged that a golf remains between short—term targets and what is needed to meet the paris temperature goal. and so i work part brings a parties back to the table next year to improve their commitments, to drive up ambition across this vital ticket. and it emphasises the urgent need to accelerate our efforts to turn targets into actions, to keep 1.5 within reach. and that work must start now. we have also, for the first, adopted text to scale up and clean power and face down and dirty coal. and after no less than six years of discussions, we have concluded on those final parts of the paris agreement robert, on article six, on common timeframes, and on transparency. and these put in place a rows and systems to keep us accountable and support increased ambition. their resolution will unleash the full force of what was agreed in paris. this is real progress in keeping 1.5 degrees within reach. progress that we have been together. but the need for continual action and implementation too much ambition must continue throughout this decade. i think, today, we can say with credibility that we have kept 1.5 degrees within reach. but its pulse is weak. and it will only survive if we keep our promises, if we translate commitment into rapid action, and if we deliver on the expectations set out in this glagow climate pact to increase ambition to 2030 and beyond, and are free because the vast gap that remains as we must. because as the prime minister told us at the start of the conference, for barbados and other small island states, she said, 2 degrees as a death sentence. friends, it is up to all of us to sustain our lodestar of keeping 1.5 degrees within reach. to continue our efforts to get finance a flowing and burst adaptation, after the collective dedication which is delivered in glagow climate pact, our work here can't be wasted. the drive towards 1.5 for a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous and circuit board must continue and we must continue that together. at the start of the summit, the world was asking, quite rightly, to the parties assembled in glasgow have the courage to rise to the skill of the courage to rise to the skill of the challenge? my friends, you have responded. we have. applause history has been made here in glasgow, and we now have to make sure the next chapter charts the success of the commitments we
