Feb 27, 2021 A high school basketball player in Michigan is being recognized for a quiet act of kindness he did last week for a player on the opposing team. At a game last week, Wakefield-Marenisco Cardinals varsity forward Matt Montienoticed a player on the Dollar Blue Bay Bolts team was playing in shoes that aren’t meant for basketball. Knowing the importance of proper high-top footwear, after the game, the teen gave the other player his own shoes, a pair of LeBron JamesNikes. “I just remember being young and not being able to afford nicer shoes for basketball and I know how bad it sucked,” Montie says. “Basketball shoes are a necessity. I’ve rolled a lot of ankles not wearing the right shoes for the right things.”
