Claire Tylke ’20 graduated with a double major in Anthropology and Chinese and a minor in Religion. Claire now works as a Site Manager for Charles River Recreation in Boston, MA. Charles River Recreation runs a series of outdoor recreation activities in the Boston area, including kayak rentals in the summer and fall, and ice skating and cross-country skiing in the winter. Claire applied for the job through UVM’s Outing Club. Her favorite memories of UVM Anthropology are relationships with “students and faculty developed with professors, peers, study groups, and the Anthro Club.” She recommends students “get involved early to connect with people who are happy share their passion for anthropology and will support you inside and outside the classroom.” Claire’s education in the anthropology department helped by “giving me the tools and the drive to think deeply and critically about my everyday experiences and interactions.”
