ALMOST THERE: Labor Park expected to be completed by early May Monroe City Councilwoman Kellie Vining has already become very familiar with the playground at the city’s Labor Park. Vining volunteers regularly at the Navarre Library, which is just next door to the recently renovated park along E. Second St. When the councilwoman’s young granddaughters come to visit her, they always insist on heading straight to the play equipment. But Vining and her grandkids aren’t the only ones enjoying the new community amenity. “There are always families out there lately, since the weather started to warm up,” Vining said. “You can see it’s going to be a very popular place.”
