SANDAKAN: Stall operators in the market here are appealing for their operating hours to be extended from 6am to 9pm, similar to food operators.
Currently, the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the State Government stated that general markets are only allowed to operate from 6am to 3pm.
The short period of time made it difficult for traders, especially stall operators.

Elopura Assemblyman, Calvin Chong said he received requests from market traders who wanted the operating hours to be extended to 9pm.
“If the business hours can be extended, their sales will improve, since there are more time for customers to come buy their packed food,” he said.
