SANDAKAN: Stall operators in the market here are appealing for their operating hours to be extended from 6am to 9pm, similar to food operators.  Currently, the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the State Government stated that general markets are only allowed to operate from 6am to 3pm.   The short period of time made it difficult for traders, especially stall operators.  ADVERTISEMENT  Elopura Assemblyman, Calvin Chong said he received requests from market traders who wanted the operating hours to be extended to 9pm.   “If the business hours can be extended, their sales will improve, since there are more time for customers to come buy their packed food,” he said.

Published on: Thursday, January 28, 2021 By: Winnie Kasmir SANDAKAN: Elopura Assemblyman, Calvin Chong (pic) on Wednesday called on the relevant authorities to come up with alternative solution to address the frequent shortage of road tax stickers’ at the post offices here.  ADVERTISEMENT He said the shortage of road tax stickers has made it difficult for motorists who want to renew their road tax.  Chong highlighted the matter after receiving a complaint from a resident who claimed to have gone to the post office at Mile 1½ to renew his road tax. According to the constituent, he stood in a long queue under the scorching sun only to be told by the post office staff that the outlet branch have run out of road tax stickers.
