Big Welsh Rhymetime with Aura Libraries. Big Welsh Rhymetime It s time to celebrate the #BigWelshRhymetime again! Whilst celebrations may be a little different this year, we here at Aura Libraries are still very excited to be able to bring you extra special rhymetime sessions online, and continue to spread a shared love of reading for all ages. The Big Welsh Rhyme Time, organised by Book Trust Cymru, is aimed at children aged 0-7, takes place this year between Monday, February 8 and Friday, February 12. The purpose of the Big Welsh Rhyme Time is to encourage children to share rhymes and songs in Welsh and English, helping them to develop speaking, listening and language skills before, or whilst, they learn to read.

Lionel Barber and Mark Thompson part of The New European takeover Former Financial Times editor and ex-BBC director-general are part of a small consortium buying the pro-EU weekly from publisher Archant Staunchly Europhile newspaper  The New European has been bought by a consortium including a former Financial Times editor and ex-BBC chief as part of a bid to ensure the title s long-term survival. The paper - which was launched in 2016 to oppose the Brexit vote - was taken over in a management buyout with support from ex- FT chief Lionel Barber and Mark Thompson, who stepped down as chief executive of The New York Times Company last July and was previously BBC director-general.

Matt Kelly, the former head of content at Archant who launched the New European following the 2016 EU referendum, will majority own and lead the title after raising about £750,000, according to people familiar with the process… The New European has a combined weekly print and online circulation of around 20,000, with contributors such as the author Bonnie Greer, the Guardian journalist Jonathan Freedland, and the Booker prize-winner Howard Jacobson. Its editor-at-large is Alastair Campbell, the former communications director for Tony Blair in Downing Street. Since its launch, The New European has broken even for the struggling Norwich-based newspaper and magazine group Archant. But Archant’s new private equity owners Rcapital Partners decided to shed the title as part of a restructuring. The total sale price was not disclosed.
