The Tom Gibson Memorial Fishing tournament will be Aug. 21 at the Watson boat dock beginning at 6 a.m. and over at 3 p.m. Each person can enter one fish.
This is a rod and reel event only. Fish must be checked in alive at the boat dock by 3 p.m. Cost is $20 per person.
Prizes will be given to person who has biggest fish by weight. All state fishing regulations apply. 50 percent of the entry fees go to Watson Fire Department. The rest of the money will go to the winners.
The Watson Fire Department will hold their annual fish fry on August 21, beginning at 5 pm. at the Watson Community Building. It will be a freewill donation supper. Lots of good food.

Last week, the kind-hearted young ladies of Daisy Troop 3071 delivered Girl Scout cookies and a handmade banner to the frontline heroes at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The Murfreesboro-based troop (pictured above) is made up of 1st graders and kindergarteners. Several of the daisies earned their Caring for Myself and Others badge for this delicious delivery.
Troop leader Holli Holmes said: After the last year, we just really wanted to find a way to take care of the people who have been the heroes in our community taking care of us.

Colquitt Regional Medical Center will cut the ribbon on its new radiation oncology unit at the Edwards Cancer Center Wednesday. Pictured is the state-of-the-art linear accelerator, the Elekta Versa HD, which is housed in the treatment chamber of the new unit. This technology is a revolutionary radiation treatment system designed to improve cancer patient care and is now available at the Edwards Cancer Center, the hospital said. MOULTRIE, Ga. â Colquitt Regional Medical Center is prepared to expand its oncology offerings this week to help local cancer patients fight their disease.
The Edwards Cancer Center at Colquitt Regional will celebrate its new radiation oncology unit with a virtual ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3. The ceremony will be streamed live on the Colquitt Regional Facebook page.
