China OUT/STR/AFP via Getty Images This weekend’s most exciting global guessing game when and where will debris from a Chinese space rocket land and possibly crush people to death after it reenters earth’s atmosphere has ended. Just after midnight Saturday, the U.S. Space Force 18th Space Control Squadron confirmed that the very large Chinese Long March 5B rocket in question, which had been used by China to launch a space-station module into orbit late last month, came back to earth and fell into the Indian Ocean north of the Maldives though it’s not yet clear if any parts landed on any land.

The rocket had been hurtling towards Earth for a week, with no one knowing when or where it would land. The landing quelled fears that debris from the rocket might have fallen on people or property.
