Public Health monitoring behaviour of Covid-19 Indian variant Public Health says it s monitoring the spread and behaviour of the Indian coronavirus variant. It s after the UK health secretary says there are now more than 2,300 cases of the strand in the UK - but vaccines do appear to be effective against it. Matt Hancock says many of the people currently in hospital with it are older patients who were offered a jab but didn t get it.
