Study Shows More Disability Stories Onscreen, but Few Disabled Actors

Study Shows More Disability Stories Onscreen, but Few Disabled Actors The study published Wednesday also showed that television is far behind film when it comes to representation of characters with disabilities. Almost all of those titles, however, still don’t feature disabled actors. Paramount+ Shares The Stand Series Premiere on YouTube for Free

Paramount+ Shares The Stand Series Premiere on YouTube for Free The latest adaptation of Stephen King s The Stand debuted on CBS All Access last December, but with the streaming service having since rebranded as Paramount+, the first episode of the adaptation has been made available for free on YouTube. While the iconic tome from King was previously adapted into a four-episode series in 1994, this latest adaptation once again enlisted top-tier talent, though its production budget largely eclipsed that previous take on the material. Additionally, this new adaptation ran for nine episodes, allowing for even more of the source material to be brought to life, while it also featured an all-new epilogue crafted by King himself.

The Stand Is Half of a Great Television Series

Screenshot: CBS All Access The Stand. I really liked parts of it, and I bounced hard off other parts. But I think the moment that sums the show up best is that, towards the end of the series, there’s a scene where a character has sex with the Devil. The Devil usually appears as Alexander Skarsgård (exactly how I would appear if I were the Devil) but while the two character are having sex, his usual glamour slips a little, and the scene flashes between a romantic scenario in a rose petal-strewn hotel room with a naked Skarsgard, and some gross and rather violent writhing in a desert, which ends on a closeup of a terrifying monster screaming directly into the camera.
