The Stand, their new miniseries based on Stephen King s epic pot-apocalyptic novel of good versus evil. And to mangle T.S. Eliot, rather than with a bang, this regrettable adaptation has gone out like a wet fart.
Expectations were high for a more King-friendly product after the 1994 miniseries was forced to pull punches for network TV. CBS and series developers Josh Boone and Ben Cavell promised a more faithful (read: R-rated) treatment for the material. Good news for everyone who felt all that was missing from the 94 show was f-bombs and simulated intercourse

Supernova writer and director Harry Macqueen knew that he wanted the veteran performers to play the lead characters for his intimate drama about a gay couple but today, such decisions can be met with backlash, as activists demand “representation” for particular demographics strictly via actors who belong to those same demographics.
“This was a discussion, and it was a very serious one,” Firth told Yahoo Entertainment.
“I was undecided for a bit,” Tucci added. “It’s always a question, because all you want to do is do it right. You want to be truthful to the film, you want to be truthful to the character and to the community.”

Just past the mid-mark, episode 6 of CBS All Access limited series based on the Stephen King book of the same name saw an important plotline play out. Harold (Owen Teague) and Nadine (Amber Heard) caused an explosion at Boulder even as the citizens of the settlement waited for Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) to return from her brief self-imposed exile. From what is visible, the explosion killed Nick (Henry Zaga). We also saw the bodies of Stu (James Marsden) and Frannie (Odessa Young) fall from the impact.

The Stand: The Walk Photos Released
CBS All Access has released new photos from The Walk , the upcoming seventh episode of the nine-episode The Stand limited series. The episode will debut on the streaming platform on January 28th. In last week s The Vigil , Nadine (Amber Heard) and Harold (Owen Teague) carry out their plan to kill the Boulder Free Zone committee with a bomb and while they don t manage to kill everyone of the committee members only Nick (Henry Zaga) is killed it s enough to set things into motion towards the ultimate showdown.
Fans of Stephen King s novel know that at this point in the story, Mother Abagail (played in the series by Whoopi Goldberg) instructs Larry (Jovan Adepo), Stu (James Marsden), Glen (Greg Kinnear), and Ray (Irene Bedard) to walk to Vegas.
