Update, 10:15 p.m.:Clarksville Police shot and killed the man after he shot a woman and then fired at officers, according to a news release.
At about 8:15 p.m., police responded to a domestic call in the 1000 block of Hedge Apple Drive, where a woman had been shot, according to Detective Michael Patterson.
When police arrived, the man opened fire on them, Patterson said. The officers returned fire, hitting the man, and he died from his injuries.
The woman was transported to the hospital and her condition was unknown.

A Clarksville man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Saturday night. The shooting took place while police were responding to a domestic shooting call, Clarksville Police officers say.
At around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a domestic call where a female victim had been shot on the 1000 block of Hedge Apple Drive. When they arrived, the male suspect opened fire. Officers returned fire and the man was killed, according to the press release.
