That’s when the Winnipeg Goldeyes are set to open up the 2021 American Association season against the Sioux Falls Canaries.
After a COVID-19 shortened 2020 season with only half of the league, the Association is going back to a 100 game format with a full complement of 12 teams.
Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier says that the organization is excited to play at home and help play a role in a return to normalcy.
“Last year, the American Association demonstrated that games could be played in front of crowds while maintaining a safe environment,” says Collier, “We have developed a thorough COVID-19 readiness plan, and look forward to cooperating with local, provincial, and federal leadership in protecting everyone who visits Shaw Park this summer.”
