Here s where to get your 12- to 15-year-olds vaccinated against COVID-19

View Comments With COVID-19 vaccine eligibility opening up to 12- to 15-year-olds, community partners in St. Clair County are rolling out clinic options for youths in that age group. A U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel recommended the Pfizer vaccine for the group earlier this week. According to Dr. Annette Mercatante, St. Clair County’s medical health officer, there were ongoing community clinics open to public walk-ins that could accommodate youths with Pfizer doses. There are clinics this weekend through the St. Clair County Diversity Initiative at the Eleger G. Harvey Reinvestment Center, 3013 24th St., that had both Pfizer and Moderna vaccine available. One was through 6 p.m. Friday and another from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Port Huron Schools to continue 100% virtual for all students

Port Huron Schools to continue 100% virtual for all students Port Huron Times Herald Port Huron Schools will continue 100% remote learning for all students pre-kindergarten through 12th grade for at least the next week after the district’s board of education signed off on the plan Monday. Superintendent Jamie Cain notified families in a letter Tuesday that the district would continue with the virtual learning plan. The decision is the latest in a series of several in 2021 as COVID-19 cases rose in the district and across St. Clair County. “Daily Zoom classes will continue and all coursework will be posted in Schoology,” Cain wrote. “Students in our virtual program will continue in their regular manner. The board of education will re-evaluate this decision during a special meeting next week.”
