SEATTLE - A Seattle waterfront landmark is set to reopen its doors after a temporary shutdown.
Miner’s Landing on Pier 57 was forced to close for four months out of an abundance of caution due to a collapse at Pier 58.
Hal Griffith, Miner’s Landing owner, said the Seattle Waterfront is all about having a fun and safe experience. Though Pier 57 was not damaged by the collapse next door, it still had to close. Griffith said in all 50 years of business, his team could not be more excited to reopen on Thursday and begin recovering from a challenging 2020.

SEATTLE - A Seattle pier has received approval to reopen to the public after it was closed for months when a chunk of a nearby pier fell off into the water, clearing the way for the city to proceed with its downtown waterfront project, officials said.
Miner’s Landing at Pier 57 was closed in September when the deteriorating Waterfront Park or Pier 58 collapsed, injuring two demolition workers.
Pier 57 owner Hal Griffith announced plans for a grand reopening. A date has not yet been determined.

Pier 57 has been approved to reopen as the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) has lifted the red tag on the privately-owned pier.
The city had temporarily closed Pier 57 in September due to its proximity to the failing Pier 58 structure, deeming it unsafe for public use. Thanks to progress on the removal of Pier 58, SDCI was able to remove the red tag on the neighboring pier, which is home to Miner’s Landing and the Great Wheel.

A tourist-friendly hotspot on Seattle s waterfront is making plans to reopen following the dramatic collapse of Pier 58 in September.
The city announced Monday that Pier 57, which includes Miner s Landing and The Seattle Great Wheel, can reopen to the public after almost 4 months of closure. The potential hazard to Pier 57 has been eliminated by the successful removal of key portions of Pier 58 immediately to the north, said Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections Director Nathan Torgelson in a news release. Our inspectors have coordinated with the city s engineering consultant and inspected Pier 57 to confirm it can be safely reopened.
