BRIDGEPORT A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder from May was taken into custody Thursday, according to police.
City detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force took 19-year-old Rashaad “Shoddy” Bynum into custody in the 800 block of Hancock Ave., Lt. Christopher LaMaine said.
Bynum was charged with criminal attempt at murder, first-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and carrying a pistol without a permit. He is being held on a $750,000 bond. The charges stem from a daytime shooting on May 20 in the area of East Main and Arctic streets, LaMaine said. Detectives obtained the warrant on June 16.

Suspect apprehended following search near SE Colorado Springs

EL PASO COUNTY â The El Paso County Sheriff s Office was searching for a suspect in an area between Colorado Springs and Security-Widefield Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the Sheriff s Office said they were searching for a suspect in the area of Hancock Ave. and Montrose Ave.
Residents in the area were asked to secure their homes and stay away from doors and windows.
This area is near I-25 and Lake Ave.
The suspect they were searching for was identified as 30-year-old Joseph Long.
