Police: Man charged with attempted murder in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT — A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder from May was taken into custody Thursday, according to police.
City detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force took 19-year-old Rashaad “Shoddy” Bynum into custody in the 800 block of Hancock Ave., Lt. Christopher LaMaine said.
Bynum was charged with criminal attempt at murder, first-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and carrying a pistol without a permit. He is being held on a $750,000 bond. The charges stem from a daytime shooting on May 20 in the area of East Main and Arctic streets, LaMaine said. Detectives obtained the warrant on June 16.
