Journalist’s house robbed January 29, 2021
Islamabad : An armed robbery was reported at a house of a journalist in a private housing society along Islamabad Expressway on Thursday.
Muhammad Aslam, the investigation officer in the case, says that security staff at the housing society is busy in identifying the robbers assessing data on their security cameras.
He said that hopefully they and the police will soon identify the robbers and name them in the first information report (FIR) of the case at Loi Bhair Police Station. Hassan Shehzad, owner of the house said that he has trust in what the police are saying, adding that once the FIR is registered, the investigation will proceed further.
PESHAWAR/ABBOTTABAD: Four persons, including two senior doctors, died of coronavirus on Monday as the death toll from the pandemic reached 1,477 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Prof Almas Afridi, a former head of department of gynecology and obstetrics, died of Covid-19 at a private hospital on late Monday night.
Provincial Doctors Association said that the number of doctors dying of Covid-19 was 36. It also demanded provision of personal protective equipment to the staff deployed in Corona ward as well as those, who were engaged in non-Covid-19 areas of the hospitals.
The province also recorded 338 more cases that took the overall count of cases in the province to 52,782. A health department report said that two persons died in Peshawar and one each in Abbottabad and Mardan.

ABBOTTABAD: With the death of a former professor of medicine Dr Hassan Shehzad in the Ayub Teaching Hospital, the death toll from coronavirus has risen to 196 in the Hazara division, with 110 fatalities alone in Abbottabad.
Also, positive cases have increased up to 7,245 out of total 82,017 cases screened while 4,333 cases are still awaited. Dr Hassan Shehzad was the 32nd doctor who lost life to coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the daily situation report, Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad has a higher number of coronavirus cases where out of the total 776 patients, 609 have recovered. Up to 73 are active cases while 96 patients died so far.

In a condolence message, the chief minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace He lauded services of the doctors and health workers who were working on the frontline to save the lives of other patients during the pandemic. He said the government appreciated their invaluable services and sacrifices in the Covid-19 pandemic.
