New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had directed the Superintendent of Police, Jhajjar in Haryana, to submit a factual report on the alleged rape and subsequent death of a woman farmer activist from West Bengal who joined the farmers protest at Delhi-Tikri Border.

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has decided to investigate the case of alleged rape and death of a woman activist from West Bengal, at Tikri border where the farmers protest is going on against Centre s three farm laws.
The alleged incident happened at the Delhi-Haryana border but the farmer activist woman died in a hospital in the Jhajjar district of Haryana due to COVID-19 infection.
Seeking an urgent intervention and direction of the NHRC, human rights activist and Supreme Court lawyer, Radhakanta Tripathy filed a petition before the NHRC, for independent, impartial, and fair investigation and justice in the matter, and heavy compensation for the woman s family members.

The alleged molestation, gangrape and death of a 25-year-old woman at the farmer protest site at New Delhi and Haryanaâs Tikri border, and its alleged cover up by farmer leaders, has stunned the country. The name of activist Yogendra Yadav has also figured in the allegations.
The woman belongs to West Bengal. She came to the protest site in mid-April, but died under mysterious circumstances in hospital on 30 April. It was only later that her father learnt that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by some farmer protest activists.

The farmers protest against the three Central farm laws has completed three months. The Kisan Congress on Wednesday, announced that on completion of three months of the protests, it will lay siege to the Union Agriculture Ministry on February 26.
Kisan Congress Vice Chairman Surendra Solanki announced that the Kisan Congress will gherao (surround) Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and his office on February 26.
