D&D’s principal story designer and essentially Candlekeep Mysteries’ lead editor, tells SYFY WIRE during a press reveal.
Candlekeep itself is a location that has appeared in every edition of
Dungeons & Dragons. Perkins describes it as “a huge fortress that perches on the edge of a sea. It’s this magically warded fortress that houses the greatest trove of lore that the Forgotten Realms has ever had.” However, there is deliberately nothing about Candlekeep in this book nor anything in the various adventures contained within that are specific to the Forgotten Realms setting, as the team wanted to make the book usable to DMs who play in a different or homebrewed setting.

It’s not every day you can walk from tent to tent and enter a different country to learn about their lives.” Throughout the event the scouts have the opportunity to take part in hundreds of activities focused on discovering new cultures, the environment, sustainable development and global issues. Chris Broadway, 15, from Winchester said: “We’re making a real impact to the local and international community by getting involved in some great projects. But as well as this We’re making new friends, and taking part in loads of exciting outdoor activities too. I’m most looking forward to getting out on the water. Scouting rocks”

In the wee hours of May 13, 1862, Robert Smalls, an enslaved Black man, stole the Confederate ship the CSS
Planter. It was the middle of the Civil War, and Smalls, one of the
Planter’s eight enslaved crew members, steered the ship away from a dock in Charleston, S.C., after its white captain, pilot, and engineer disembarked for the night. Donning the captain’s hat as a disguise, Smalls picked up his family and the families of other crew members and sailed out of Confederate waters and into freedom.
