Nakasendo Way, Japan
Now known as the Nakasendo Way, during the Edo Period (1603 to 1868), the Nakasendo Trail connected Kyoto to Tokyo. The name Nakasendo Trail, literally translates to “middle mountain way” or “path through the mountains.” The best-preserved portion of the Nakasendo Way is a picturesque trail through the mountains that runs through the Kiso Valley in southwestern Nagano Prefecture.

Chang said that the six countries and states are actively negotiating the establishment of new tourism bubbles with Taiwan and will discuss the loosening of epidemic prevention regulations with the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
Chiba man accused of kidnapping Aomori girl for molestation

AOMORI (TR) – Aomori Prefectural Police have arrested a 44-year-old man living in Chiba Prefecture over the alleged abduction of a high school girl, reports NHK (Mar. 15).
On March 9, Tsuyoshi Hagiwara, a part-time deliveryman, allegedly abducted the girl and held her at his residence in Kamagaya City for three days for the purpose of molestation.
Upon his arrest on Monday, Hagiwara admitted to the allegations, police said.
According to police, Hagiwara met the girl, who lives in Aomori, via social media. The suspect picked the girl up in Tokyo on March 9 after she traveled from Aomori.
Iwate city council chairman handed suspended prison term for sex with teen girl

IWATE (TR) – A court here has handed the chairman of the Ninohe City council a suspended prison term for engaging in sex with a teenage girl last year, reports Fuji News Network (Feb. 17).
At the Morioka District Court on Wednesday, presiding judge Kataoka handed Kiyoaki Ogasawara, 76, an 18-month prison term, suspended for four years.
“Despite being in a position to promote the healthy upbringing of young people, your responsibility for the crimes [in this case] is great,” Kataoka said.
