Sweden s Paralympic team halved from Rio 2016 but strong on experience

Sweden s Paralympic team halved from Rio 2016 but strong on experience Monday, 5 July 2021 Sweden has named a 26-strong Paralympic team across 11 different sports - less than half the size of its 58-athlete team at Rio 2016. We are almost half as many active this year as in Rio 2016, said Swedish Paralympic Committee high-performance sport director Inês Lopes. Then we took 10 medals and now our realistic goal is seven medals, so in percentage terms we are much stronger now. Fifteen of the team are women, and of the 26 members all but six have previous Paralympic experience.
