PANAJI: The state government’s failure to rectify the erratic supply of oxygen at Goa Medical College saw around 15 more Covid-19 patients dying in the “dark hours” of Thursday. The deaths, which occurred between 2am and 6am, coincided with a two hour long phase where oxygen pressure in GMC’s central line plummeted. The crisis unfolded around 1:25 am when relatives began making SOS calls saying that oxygen levels were dropping at GMC. The reports were confirmed at 2.10 am when it was established that wards 145, 144, 146, 143, 149 GMC had an oxygen shortage. A doctor at ward 147 said only three cylinders were left.
