Mar 1, 2021 9:27 AM Daytona Beach, FL - Home sales in the Daytona Beach area continued the trend from 2020 to January 2021. Prices rose again in January though fewer homes were sold. According to an analysis of Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data by Wyse Home Team Realty showed a 17 percent increase in total home sales and a 14 percent increase in the median sales price, compared to January 2020. Total sales volume also was up in year-over-year comparisons, by 27.5 percent. During January, 368 single-family homes (detached) were sold in the Daytona Beach area with a median home sales price of $282,194.  The number of homes sold in January showed a 34 percent decrease from December, a typical trend for the month of January each year in Daytona Beach.  January 2021: 368 sales, $125,273,693 sales   volume, $282,194 median sales price. Matanzas High School claims third place in wrestling at District 4-2A

Andy Mikula, Correspondent Matanzas will advance eight wrestlers and claimed four weight class championships last week at home during the District 4-2A tournament. Capturing individual titles at the Feb. 17 meet were Carter Wilder, brothers Tyson and Jordan Mills and Robert Elder. Quincy Cuthbert was second in his weight class, Braden Hawley Logan Mayer and Brandyn Cox all took third place, and Toryion Stallings was fourth.    Wilder (106) won his title with a pin of Gavin Barrio of St. Augustine at the 4:42 and also won in the semi-finals in 34 seconds. Tyson Mills won the 152-pound title winning a 9-3 decision over Hayden Yanna of St. Augustine, and Jordan Mills won the 160 championship in an 8-2 decision over Clint Green of St. Augustine. Both brothers pinned opponents in the semi-final round. Orlando man arrested in attack on gay man at New Smyrna Beach home

Police said that on Sunday at 11:16 p.m. they were called to a stabbing at an Inwood Avenue home. Police learned that the victim and his boyfriend were sitting in their home when the power went out. The victim exited the home to check the circuit breaker and was hit in the head, possibly with brass knuckles, police said. When the victim fell to the ground the attacker, later identified as Jones, stabbed him  multiple times in the legs with a chisel, a report states. Police said they found the man bleeding from multiple stab wounds to the back of his thighs and a cut on his head. The victim said that during the attack a bandana came off Jones face and he recognized him, investigators said.
