Matanzas will advance eight wrestlers and claimed four weight class championships last week at home during the District 4-2A tournament.
Capturing individual titles at the Feb. 17 meet were Carter Wilder, brothers Tyson and Jordan Mills and Robert Elder. Quincy Cuthbert was second in his weight class, Braden Hawley Logan Mayer and Brandyn Cox all took third place, and Toryion Stallings was fourth.
Wilder (106) won his title with a pin of Gavin Barrio of St. Augustine at the 4:42 and also won in the semi-finals in 34 seconds. Tyson Mills won the 152-pound title winning a 9-3 decision over Hayden Yanna of St. Augustine, and Jordan Mills won the 160 championship in an 8-2 decision over Clint Green of St. Augustine. Both brothers pinned opponents in the semi-final round.
