Wave pool for surfers expected to crest into New Smyrna Beach in 2022
NEW SMYRNA BEACH Eric Geiselman once survived an encounter with a Great White Shark that bit his surfboard in half.
In 2015, his younger brother Evan was rescued after being swallowed by a 20-foot wave at Oahu s North Shore, leaving his face a blueish-purple color, foaming at the mouth and without breath.
The brothers from New Smyrna Beach have both seen surf breaks around the world, and while nothing can compare to the adventure of Mother Nature s oceans, a new technology that s coming to town has them stoked. American Wave Machines, Inc., has announced it s building a world-class wave pool some 7 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean.
