Centre County Adds 96 COVID-19 Cases over 2 Days; Pennsylvania Reports 5,675

Centre County reported 96 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days 60 on Sunday and 36 on Monday to bring its total to 15,744, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Pennsylvania added 5,675 positives 3,761 on Sunday and 1,914 on Monday for a statewide total of 1,109,291. The county also had 160 additional negative test results over the two days, increasing its total to 66,724. Across Pennsylvania, there were 13,561 new negatives for a total of 4,294,873. DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 215. With 29 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide 27 on Sunday and two on Monday Pennsylvania’s total is 25,690.

Pennsylvania added 5,650 cases for a statewide total of 1,098,502. The county also had 95 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 66456. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,252 new negatives for a total of 4,259,382. Across Pennsylvania, there were 12,049 new negatives for a total of 4,271,431. DOH reported two new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, the county’s first COVID-19 deaths in nearly six weeks. To date, the county has had 215 COVID-19 deaths. With 56 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is 25,622. Mount Nittany Medical Center is currently treating 27 COVID-19 inpatients between the ages of 28 and 89, according to a hospital spokesperson. Since April 1, the medical center has had an average daily census of 25 COVID inpatients. In both February and March, the average census was 18.

Pennsylvania added 5,060 cases for a statewide total of 1,092,852. The county also had 102 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 66,361. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,252 new negatives for a total of 4,259,382. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 34 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, six more than on Wednesday. Three are in intensive care and three are on ventilators. Across Pennsylvania 2,577 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized [a decrease of three since Wednesday], including 572 in intensive care [+30] and 265 on ventilators [+3]. DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 213 for the 40th consecutive day.

Centre County Adds 50 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 5,730

Centre County reported 50 new COVID-19 on Wednesday to bring its total to 15,431, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Pennsylvania added 5,730 cases for a statewide total of 1,087,792. As a result of a new lab submitting results, the total includes 1,101 positive antigen test results that were collected more than three days ago and ranging back to mid-January, according to the health department. Allegheny County accounted for 85% of those newly identified cases. Centre County also had 98 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 66,259. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,416 new negatives for a total of 4,251,130. According to DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 28 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, with six in intensive care and three on ventilators.
