Allan McLennan: Is it better to build an organic service offering that puts out and establishes the overall base of the viewer of your market or is it something to actually go forward and get the funding to be able to build an overall service prior to having advertisers support, subscription support? Which is the better goal in building a service that viewers want?

Nadine Krefetz: How do you track or target when you need to get people s approval for PPI?
Yazmin Wickham: To your first question, how does life look like without cookies? It s very bleak, but therein lies the rub, right? You have to ask for the PPI in order to be able to really track somebody and serve them appropriate ads across devices. So if you can t do that, you re just kind of shooting an arrow in the dark. Generally, the consensus idea seems to be that, if you can get somebody to give you permission to drop that advertising tracking cookie, or to provide you an email address that you can then anonymize, then you can use that with your ad tracking and carry it across everywhere they re consuming content. But as we go down the list SVOD, subscription-based video on demand; AVOD, ad-based; FAST, free ad-supported TV, typically live linear TV; transactional video on demand, whether that s rental or purchase, a relatively new term. And there may have been a new term since last night that I haven t picked up on. PVOD, premium video on demand for first run, theatrical releases like Trolls world tour and Milan.
