Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a James City County teen shot in the neck on Sunday.
On Feb. 21 at approximately 3:18 a.m., James City County Police officers responded to gunshots at Vacation Village at Williamsburg, 4870 Longhill Road. They found a 17-year-old teen from James City County who had been shot in the neck when he was inside one of the units at the 100 block of Indian Fields Way, authorities said in a news release.
The teen was flown to VCU Medical Center, treated for his injuries and is expected to recover, police said.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. Monday afternoon, the James City County Police Department shared that it was investigating two shootings from Sunday - one victim was found in Williamsburg, and another in Newport News.
A release from police said calls for help about the first victim came in around 3:18 a.m. in the 4800 block of Longhill Road in Williamsburg.
Murder charges against two men in connection to the shooting death of a man outside a Toano apartment complex will head to the grand jury following a preliminary hearing Thursday in Williamsburg-James City County General District Court.

A 47-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a massage business in James City County last week, authorities said.
On Dec. 15, Shawn Lamonte Robinson had reportedly sexually assaulted a 41-year-old woman during a massage appointment at the Massage LuXe, 5239 Monticello Ave., James City County Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Williams said.
Robinson was the massage therapist “and he assaulted a customer,” said Steve Rubino, JCC PD spokesman.
Williams said Robinson was arrested on Dec. 18 and charged with felony sexual assault, which is listed in state code as object sexual penetration.
He is being held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
