Police believe a 21-year-old man's death in Newport News may be linked to a shooting at a party earlier in Williamsburg. A 17-year-old boy was also shot but is expected to live, officials said.

Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a James City County teen shot in the neck on Sunday.
On Feb. 21 at approximately 3:18 a.m., James City County Police officers responded to gunshots at Vacation Village at Williamsburg, 4870 Longhill Road. They found a 17-year-old teen from James City County who had been shot in the neck when he was inside one of the units at the 100 block of Indian Fields Way, authorities said in a news release.
The teen was flown to VCU Medical Center, treated for his injuries and is expected to recover, police said.
