But, the now-northern New Jersey man said there are still reasons for him to visit the region often. One of those is SplashDown Beach Water Park.
“My 9-year-old son and 24-year-old autistic stepdaughter love going there and missed it last summer,” he said.
Water parks across the state, including the Fishkill site ranked sixth on TripAdvisor s list of the best water parks in the country, were not permitted to open last summer amid COVID-19 restrictions.

SplashDown Beach is sixth on TripAdvisor s list of the best water parks in the country, with three of the five in front of it located in Florida.
The water park s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 29 through May 31. From June 5 through June 20 the park is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. On June 24, the park opens for daily operation

On Friday, Christmas Day, rain could be heavy at times in the morning as temps begin to drop back to around 40 by nightfall with wind gusts of up to 43 mph. Another 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible. The overnight lows will reach a very cold, 22 degrees.
