President Joe Biden struck a conciliatory tone Thursday in his first comments on Senate Republicans nearly $1 trillion infrastructure counteroffer, adding that he hopes to finish negotiations really soon.
Biden spoke to reporters before boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington and noted that, while he hasn t had a chance yet to go over the details of the offer, he had a very brief, but good conversation with Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, who is leading the GOP s negotiation efforts. He said the two sides would meet sometime next week.
