Florida State University News FSU College of Music celebrates 80 years of summer music camps  Campers perform at the 2019 Choral Ensemble Camp Final Performance Florida State University’s College of Music will host its 80th year of music camps this summer, one of the country’s oldest and largest summer music camp programs. “For 80 years, the FSU Summer Music Camps program has been an important tradition that encourages students to visit our beautiful campus while working with world-class music educators,” said Todd Queen, dean of the College of Music. “It is no surprise that the majority of students who attend music camps select FSU as their college of choice. We are honored to continue this important legacy.”

Champions of kindness sought at Keighley College

They will take part in activities to promote wellbeing and boost awareness of social responsibility. The Kinder Colleges initiative is welcomed by principal, Steve Kelly. He said: “The pandemic has been incredibly tough for our staff and students, however it allowed us time to reflect on the importance of wellbeing. “It has been touching to see our community come together to support each other during challenging times – and we’re committed to embodying this culture of kindness within the college. “Kinder Colleges is focused on inspiring students and staff to become active citizens within the community – which might be seen through volunteering, planting trees or random acts of kindness.

Top-level parliamentary praise for Keighley College

It has been recognised for its role in boosting education and skills across Keighley and beyond. A glowing endorsement of its “great work” has been given by Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson. And tribute is paid locally to the Bradford Road campus by Keighley’s MP, Robbie Moore. He has spoken of the importance of plans to launch a ‘skills hub’ in the town – which would bring together businesses and education providers like the college to help deliver the talents needed in manufacturing, engineering and technology. Keighley College principal, Steve Kelly, said he was delighted that the college’s work was being recognised both locally and nationally.

Hopes high over £25 million cash boost for Keighley

HOPES are high of good news within weeks over Keighley s bid for millions of pounds to rejuvenate the town. The man chairing the board which has put forward a sweeping package of proposals for up to £25m of Government cash says he remains extremely positive and confident about the result. Positive discussions and engagement are continuing with the Government office and Bradford Council, says Ian Hayfield, who heads-up the Keighley Town Deal Board. Everyone involved is working flat out to achieve a favourable outcome. On a personal note I have to say thank you to council officers, who have been working around the clock on this.
